on one hand i would be pissed because itll ruin the show, but on the other hand, chad has put six years of his life into this show playing this one character and i would understand if he wanted to do something new. i mean, the one tree hill/leyton fan in me will be soooooooooo angry that hes screwing everything up but a part of me gets it.

If he leaves I'll be happy because then I won't have to see Leyton all the time but I'll be sad because then there won't be any Brucas! But it's Chad's descion!

If he wants to be taken seriously as an actor, he'll have to play some more different, diverse roles.

Plus this show is SERIOUSLY dragging on. The last decent storyline was in 510 with Rachel's drug stuff & a possible Naley divorce. ATM, it's just 7th Heaven... YAWN! I don't give a shit about Jamie or Sam or The movie, and yeah, we have LP but all their kisses it's just a quick pan off the screen.
And what are Naley doing?

The quicker they kill this show, the better, and Chad leaving is just one step closer. CMM I applaud you!

i wont hate him!!he has the right to decide to do movies coz common he cant be a series actor for ever..to be taken seriously he has to do some decent movies for me!!..of course i will be angry not to see Leyton anymore but we have to respect his desire to leave and walk his own path!!
for me its not whether Chad wants to leave or not for me its the fact that if he wants to leave then the best thing to do in my opinion is to end the season happily now!and not do a season 7!coz maybe many dot like Luke but lets face it the show wont do as well as it does now!Luke is invovled in every characters life!!

i chose this option but disagree with ritergrl. i think there have been great storylines...and i actually really like sam a lot! i think two new characters added to the show this season are 2 of the best OTH characters ever....sam and julian.

and while i do think the show would have to change gears a little bit if lucas were no longer on the show....i think that he is the best character to leave if one of the main characters has to go. originally when the show was created lucas was definitely the main character. it was about lucas and his father that abandoned him, it was about the rivalry between the two brothers over their fathers love, nathans girlfriend peyton, and their love for basketball, and it focused a lot on lucas and his relationships with people (how he related with karen, with brooke, with peyton, with keith, with haley, with dan, with nathan). Now lucas isn't really included in every storyline. Lucas's family isn't around anymore....karen andy and lilly left, keith died, and lately it seems like dan has totally forgotten that lucas is his son and has only been focusing on nathan and jamie (does dan even realize he's about to have another grandchild....lucas's child?), lucas isn't a rival with nathan and the show barely even focuses on them as brothers- they've had a few brotherly scenes this season, but definitely not enough to say the show is focused on their relationship like it was first season, lucas isn't trying to win over peyton....nathan hasn't been in the picture for a very long time where peyton is involved, lucas and peyton weren't anything except friends for most of the series from mid season 1-all the way to the end of season 4 when they reunite. and now that lucas and peyton are a couple...it is a solo storyline, it doesn't include and overlap with other storylines the way it did in other season (fighting with nathan over peyton, brooke and peyton losing their friendship over fighting over lucas...)
the only thing that seemed like it revolved around lucas was the cliffhanger from last season "who will lucas choose?" that revolved around lucas....it wasn't a cliffhanger about brooke, or peyton, or lindsey...it was about lucas and who HE wants to be with.
but other than that....i feel like the other characters are just as important (and i think even more important) to the show.
nathan and haley are both really important because they are the one couple on the show that MANY (i know not all...some of you find them boring and don't like haley) people are fans of. i've heard mark say in interviews that it was planned from the beginning for nathan and haley to get together and for them to be the fairytale couple of the show. i think they provide a lot of the need for love and family ties on the show. in addition to the fact that they have a son...and now a grandfather that has been involved in the grandson's life....so they have become the family of focus- no longer lucas's family.
also, nathan is sooo important to the show because of basketball. basketball is sooo important to OTH, the way the game is played and what the game represents is exactly what OTh stands for. nathan is the one that is continuing the basketball legacy of the show.
haley is also important because she ties into brooke and sam's storyline. haley was the one who convinced brooke to take sam in as her foster child and has remained a big part of that storyline.
brooke has been involved in lucas's storyline of the movie, involved in the storyline of Q's death since he was the same guy that attacked her, and involved in the storylines of peyton's past since she is now starting to date julian...and she has her own storylines going on with everything with the attack and with her mothering sam.
while i may not be much of a peyton fan...i think she has an important role in the show the same way nathan does. while basketball is a HUGE part of OTH, so is music. the show is known for taking bands that weren't always popular and helping make them more main stream. music is HUGEEE in oth and peyton is really the link to that right now. between her love for music, her record company, working with mia, and helping haley with haley's music....i think she brings something to the show that is important.

this doesn't mean i don't think lucas is important....but i think he is of least importance. (plus i think CMM's acting skills have been weakening greatly and lucas as a character has gotten much more annoying....i find him very boring lately and the fact that there have been a lot less lucas scenes and storylines have made me enjoy the show much more.)

I just don't hate people. And I think that Mark knows that the fans thinks he's gonna ruin the show, so I think Mark has come up with a plan B.

I know the show is based on Lucas and i totally understand why he wants to move on to Movies. I think if he doesn't return then their should be no season 7.

I don't want him to leave because we have waited for Leyton for so long and he plays Lucas well. Him and Hilarie are really good together on the show if he leaves it won't feel right...I would probably stop watching it.

i had to answer this because i won't hate the man just because he leaves the show...i don't want him to leave or anything like that as you all know how much i love lucas but i can't hate the man for making a decision that he wants to make...and yes i'd rather the show end than continue without chad

i think if done in the right way they could make the show sort of work without lucas, i know a lot of people don't like his character...i mean it will ruin the show for me personally because it takes away my favorite character, my favorite couple and my two favorite friendships...but if they are going to continue the show without chad than my only hope would be that they center the show more around Nathan...the only problem with that is as much as i love Nathan(and i do he's my second favorite character) he to me is still one of the more boring characters on the show...i don't know how they would go about doing this but im sure mark can think of something however i don't know how i'd survive watching oth without chad....

but if he chooses to leave the show i have to respect his decision. the man has to do what he has to do, i mean none of us are him if he wants to pursue acting in movies etc than he should. besides if he does leave i'm sure it won't be a decision that was easily made.

NO CHAD NO SEASON 7--I NEED MY LEYTON HAPPY ENDING!
