What is better: the movie City of Bones oder the new Shadowhunters series?

Honestly I think the new series on Freeform is better. The movie was horrible, and didn't make all that much sense, like is Jocelyn in the Institute? because it sure looked like it.
Shadowhunters has not very many problems, and the casting was a million times better. The main problem: WHY IS LUKE BLACK!?!?!? I've seen 'Clary's' drawings and Luke is a blond white guy!!!!

But the show.. I personally can't stand it. The Schauspielen is ATROCIOUS. Like so bad I can't handle it.
I gave up watching after about three eps, so maybe it gets better, I can't say.
