I always figured it was Jace's way of sarcasticly saying that Du don't have to put up with any shit from others; like if Du asked for oranges then Du shouldn't have to settle for lemons, Du know? I could be wrong, lol.

I agree with the above answer. He's saying that instead of making the best of the situation, Du should fight until Du get what Du want and not settle for anything less.
