Is what they are saying about the Minecrat movie true?

I'm hearing a lot about this lately, but It kind of sounds....strange? a game where Du survive, but never really die forever, fighting monsters, and Punching trees which then float in the air?! how could that possibly become a movie?! I guess WB has their own ideas oder something, but like would it use 'real people' and scenery, oder will it be like those little animated shorts that Du can find on YouTube?
