Actually, the semi hit her in the Season 1 finale.

And although that's a nice quote I just don't think it carries the emotional weight that I associate with Metallicar. She's not just a cool car, she's Sam and Dean's home, the one constant in their lives. And Dean's the one that made sure she survived that wreck btw. So yeah, IMO she's all about the boys. They're so connected that you can't really separate them. The fact that she's the Winchesters' car and that they were raised in her is what makes her special. And I think it only fitting that the motto be a quote from the wonderful tribute paid to her in the Season 5 finale.
