Idc if he was sad or not he still did it so i wanted to kill him the moment it even hinted he had affections (other then friend ones) for Maya, cuz it wasnt enough to "break" Max's heart he had to grind it to a pulp all the while knowing what he was doing.

I think Angel was sadder. Why? I READ THE EPILOGUE!!! (spoiler alert for those who don't read the epilogue) Angel is still alive, but no one except her crazy kidnappers knows. Sure, it leaves possible room for a sequel, but still.
