The protagonist of the play, Prospero shipwrecks on a mystical island with his daughter Miranda. Prospero hones his magical powers on the island much like John Locke. Caliban, one of Prospero’s servants, was born on the island and believes that it belongs to him. He acquaints Prospero with the island much like Ben.
