"BOYS....OUTSIDE!!!" Esme yelled, both Emmett and I stopping dead in our tracks because we knew that she only yelled when she was truly upset.

Emmett pushed me out the backdoor before I could argue that I had to bring Bella back, Rosalie and Bella following us out as Rosalie grumbled to Bella about 'Men never growing up.'

Emmett charged at me, but I heard his plan and moved out of the way laughing as he charged right into the river....

***Edward's POV***

I laid back against the seat, my lungs burning from the screaming. I rest my head against the headrest and I focused on Gabriel and Jane's thoughts. I knew that Gabriel was proud of himself that he could make me scream, that he could control me still after all these years.

I tried to keep myself from telling him off, from kicking the door open and jumping out. I knew that if I tried they would only bring me back, the pain and torture would be twice as bad as it had been...

He watched me, clearly weighing his options. I wanted him to stay, wanted him to comfort me, to tell me it would be alright. To just talk to me, I wanted to tell him about my mom, what I had seen.

I was so Lost in my thoughts that I didn't notice that we had stopped. I looked around to find that Concho had stopped, his ears flicking back and forth as he listened to something. I took a deep breath and held it as I listened to what could have bothered him.

I wondered what was bothering Concho until I saw a large cougar walk out of the woods, it's tail swishing back and forth as it looked at Concho and I. I watched it as it took a few steps and stopped, smelling the air around...
