I'm gonna say Hermione only because she stuck by Harry through the whole Horcrux search. But I love Ron.

Hermione's my favourite character, but there are many times in the books when Hermione is not there when Ron and Harry are like in Ron's house, etc...
So i'd say Ron. :)

Harry might be able to survive without Ron but not without Hermione

I think so because Ron is his very best friend and that we learn more about Ron's family and hardships.

It's like Harry is the male lead character, Hermione is the female lead character and Ron is next in line.

i agree with toylet gnome, in the first books it is ron and in the last books Hermione gets more book and screen time.

That was a pretty tough question because in the first book, for the first half of the bok Harry hung out with Ron and Hermione was portrayed as being a whiny side character before they all became friends also Hermione didnt attend Christmas vacation with Harry like Ron did, in the second book Harry stayed with Ron at the beginning few chapters, briefly seeing Hermione at Diagon Alley before going to Hogwarts where they hung out with Hermione full time, but then the last fourth or so of the book Hermione was petrified, in the third Harry and Hermione had kind of a minor falling out so he went out of his way to avoid her it seemed, but then when when Ron was incapacitated at the hospital Harry did all the time turner stuff with Hermione, in the fourth book when Ron and Harry briefly stopped being friends he hung out with just Hermione for 4 or 5 chapters or so, in the fifth they were all together the whole time, but in the sixth one when Ron and Hermione were in the middle of ignoring eachother Harry tried to hang out with both of them but tended to hang with just Hermione because Ron and Lavender were always smooching, but Harry did attend Christmas vacation with Ron, in the seventh one when Ron ditched Harry, Hermione stuck with him throughout the whole book, so in the end its really hard to tell but Ill go with Ron just because
