DarkSarcasm Just because you're a fan of Twilight, The Sorcerer's Apprentice, Percy Jackson, etc. doesn't mean you can't still be a Harry Potter fan. In fact, I think some of the best HP fans are the ones who *have* read these other books and still feel that Harry Potter is superior. 'Cause, y'know, it is. ;) Also, if you're a "true Potter fan" like you've implied, that means you haven't read or seen any of the movies from the other series. How can you judge them (and tell others to stay away) if you don't know anything about them? One more thing - where did you get the 75,000? Is there a list of all registered Potter fans somewhere that I don't know about?

Mermaid-Tail A 'true' Harry Potter fan doesn't need to shun other movies or books for the sake of it. If your affection for the series is so weak that enjoying another story would stop you being a fan of HP you were never really a fan in the first place. I am a big fan of many other books and movies (though not personally any of the ones you listed) and that doesn't have any detrimental affect on my feelings for the Harry Potter world. HP is too good to engage in feeble competition with other series', that's for stories that aren't good enough to feel secure in it's fans continued interest. HP is better than that, and it's fans are better than the types of fanbase that feel threatened or competative towards other series'. Expanding your reading experience is not a betrayal of a story you already like, if anything it helps you have a deeper respect and understanding of books you already like :)

Persephone713 I really don't know what you are talking about. At the midnight premiere in JUST ONE THEATER in my home town there were 2200 people. And Deathly Hallows is the best in the series financially and with fans opinions. The books are already under the classic's at Barnes and Noble in the kids section. Yeah I know its the kids section but...it starts off for everyone and it gets more and more mature. I too love Percy Jackson and Sorcerers Apprentice but that doesn't change my opinions or feelings for Potter. I will always be faithful to potter. No matter what wannabe series comes along( cough*twilight*cough)

HecateA Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Heroes of Olympus, The Hunger Games, The Chronicles of vladimir Todd, have you ever heard of those books? I have, I've read them- nearly all. I agree with you on the point of Twilight, but many book series deserve a chance, they are good books but not in the same way Harry's adventures are, and they dont strike me the same. I wont restrict myself to HP because I am a strong reader and a strong girl that can explore horizons- and if you're asking me to cut down on the Percy Jackson you're going to be disapointed, just as PJ fans would be if thye asked me to burn the HP books.

I like other adventure books (The Mortal Instruments, Artemis Fowl, Vampire Academy) and still like HP. Just like I watch Galaxy Quest, Sweeney Todd and Something the Lord Made and am still a fan of Severus Snape. I think Taylor Lautners hot but still have dizzying day-dreams over Alan Rickman. Watching other movies, reading other books doesn't effect how much I like anything relating to the HP universe, my favorite actors or characters.

Shepard14 I don't think that Harry Potter is losing popularity that drastically....I am sure the fan numbers will go up and down over time... besides, even IF the numbers do go down...you can be sure that those remaining are the EXTREMELY loyal ones... anyway, I really don't care whether or not people hate Harry Potter or not...I love it and they should feel free to love what they do...Maybe eventually they'll come around ;)

I am NOT going to go around saying that Harry Potter is better than all the other good books in the world. I may be proudly obsessed (=D) with HP, but that doesn't mean that I'm not going to enjoy all the other good things in life. And why does it matter what celebrities you like?
