Harry Potter oder Twilight Article: Stop the Hate

People are passionate about defending their Bücher that they love. I know that and I’ve done it. What’s really disturbing is when the users of Fanpop use this site to bring people down oder just to openly hate.

Harry Potter and Twilight are going to be compared. No other two Bücher have the same rabid following and they both have strong roots in the supernatural. I welcome Debatte and exchanging of opinions, when it’s friendly. Some of the Kommentare I’ve seen on these Foren could not be called friendly debate. It just makes me sick when I know that there are people out there that are willing to be so mean just based on the words of people we don’t even know. It’s not worth it to me to sacrifice the person that I want to be just to defend my book of choice.

I think this applies to Harry Potter Fans as well as Twilight ones. In general, Twilight Fans are the most verbal is expressing their Liebe for the books. Most of the insane Fan stories I hear are of Twilight fans, annd likewise most of the profane Kommentare that I see are from them as well. But Harry Potter Fans are just as able to do these things.

Even if Du don't agree with me, thank Du for Lesen this. Hopefully we can make Fanpop a better place.

werewolflover I agree,and I love twilight,and i thought harry potter was stupid,but then I read it and watched it and it turns out I like it too.

DJ_Squeaky I agree...I'm one of those people who haved badmouthed something...both of these series actually O.o but I is sorry...

traceyhp Even I was guilty of spreading the hate unintentionally. I sometimes use the wrong words to express a dislike I have about a particular book's message. The book it was compared to has many great quotes and philosophies. But I really didn't mean to hurt the fans of that book, I just don't get why there is so few similarities, yet they are often compared. (And from my profile pic, you know which two books I'm talking about specifically.)

The Difference Between Debating and Fighting

As Du probably know, the Twilight vs. Harry Potter spot is a Debatte spot. We come here mainly to Debatte over which series is better and why, oder to discuss why we like one series better than the other, then others can, if they wish, Debatte the points made in the other persons arguments.

However, there is a difference between debating and fighting.

When Du debate, Du are willing to see both sides of an argument. Du have to understand why the other person is saying what they are saying before Du Debatte against their point. Understanding does NOT necessarily mean agreeing. It means "I see why...
