I like him being more morally grey as in the books. I think in the show he's turned many times into a "hero" of sorts when his actions are more morally questionable in the books.

because GRRM is more honest about what a terrible person he is sometimes there. I mean yeah, GRRM definitely plays favorites with him and other characters and sometimes portrays this jerky guy too sympathetically, but on the show, they don't bother showing his evil deeds and negative traits at all. he's the definition of a Nice Guy.

I don't agree with him being portrayed as nice guy in the show... He even annoys me A LOT in season 5.
