Here's some stuff I remembered seeing:
Author E.L. James announced Monday she has written a new "Fifty Shades of Grey" book from the point of view of the character Christian Grey.
It seems everyone can’t keep their eyes off Christian Grey this week in light of EL James new book, “Grey.” The spin-off novel that chronicles the happenings of “Fifty Shades of Grey” from the perspective of the dominant businessman has sold over one million copies in less than a week, a truly tremendous achievement.
Realty Today News also reveals some interesting details surrounding the “Fifty Shades Darker” movie’s release date this Monday, June 22, 2015, as well as the latest casting rumors.
There’s a lot to tackle this week, but before delving into the exciting discussion surrounding “Grey,” let’s examine some housekeeping for the “Fifty Shades Darker” film. Although we know that the release date is set for February 2017, it’s been disclosed this week that the movie was in fact originally set for a 2016 release. It may pain the hearts of fellow fans to say it, but the hope of Universal was to have the next installment in the franchise set for next year, not two years from now.
What was the reason behind this unfortunate pushing back of the long-awaited release date? Apparently, there’s been some indecision for casting — both on and off the “Fifty Shades of Grey” sequel set. There still is no word yet on a potential director for the film, though EL James’ husband, Niall Leonard, will be serving as screenwriter. Three roles in particular are being especially anticipated by fans—that of Mrs. Robinson, Leila Williams, and Jack Hyde.
No confirmation currently exists on the casting of these parts. However, it has been suggested that Cara Delevingne was linked with the part of Leila, a former submissive of Christian Grey. Charlize Theron appears to be a very popular fan choice for Mrs. Robinson — the dominant female figure who introduced Christian to what BDSM is all about. Finally, Henry Cavill — the iconic “Man of Steel,” Superman — is connected to the role villainous Jack Hyde.
On to “Grey,” the spin-off that has spanned a million new sighs from readers. Since its official release on Thursday, notes the New York Daily News, hundreds of thousands of audiences have purchased a copy, and while reviews are mixed at this time, overall reception has been positive. The new book is told from Christian Grey’s point of view and is something, said James, that fans have long been waiting for—and certainly deserve. The publisher of Vintage Anchor chimed in with a comment about the novel’s recent but immense success.
"This is an astonishing number of books to sell over a weekend and speaks to the engagement and passion readers have for the \'Fifty Shades\' books," said Anne Messitte to the press. "Christian\'s side of the story is proving to be irresistible.”
Have you read “Grey” yet? What is your response to the sequel book? While many of us are understandably impatient for “Fifty Shades Darker” to hit the silver screen, it is likely that the sexual appetite of Christian Grey will hold us over until then. Most of the upcoming film is still under wraps at this time, but we do know that it is expected to be a sexier addition than even the original, so keep your fantasies at the ready, friends.
