The only one I know for sure that is, is my husband. I don't think any men in my family really do. It's sad really. They're all bible thumping baptists. Not saying that all are like that, but my family unfortunately are.

My dad is a feminist, I think my ex-boyfriend is, and I think that's it. My dad had a spirited feminist discussion the other day about how sexist some dating shows are. He even boycotted Dr Pepper.

It's hard to say. I think the males in my family would be okay with, even like, the fact that I support gender equality. But I don't think they'd like the fact that I consider myself a feminist. Because some of them associate the word "feminist" with "women's libber" and "man-hater".

My dad is the worst of them all. When I was living with him 2 years ago, it was horrible. He was always mad and complaining that he had to cook for us, because we didn't know. Excuse me? You're SUPPOSED to take care of us, if you wanted us to live you so much. He made me and my sister clean, while he didn't do shit, which fine, he works, I can deal with that. BUT when he said this, I almost had an anger attack "Don't complain about cleaning! I already cook for you! You're the woman of the house, you should be doing this stuff."
Yeah, fuck you too, dad.

^That sucks.

My dad, a lot of my cousins, some of my guy friends, and my boyfriend are feminists. One of the only guys I know of that is anti-feminist is my ex-boyfriend. He wasn't really like that before our breakup, but afterwards, he was very chauvanistic. He always made snide comments about girls, treats them like crap, and then says sexist shit to me like "Sandy, go to kitchen where you belong." and I'm thinking "Piss off."

When I lived with my dad he did all the cooking, and most of the cleaning (to help I did the dishes ^_~) he never complained or asked me to cook sometimes (for good reason) so I like to think he was teaching me that a man's place can be in the kitchen too. Or perhaps he thought he would starve if he didn't, cuz to hell if I was going to make dinner.

I don't surround myself with men or women who don't believe in the complete equality of both gender!

The vast majority of my co-workers seem to have a feminist mindset, but I work quite far away from home, and a lot of my neighbours have a questionable sense of morality! Friends and family vary. Some of my relatives have tried to talk me out of my career plans and wonder why I'm not particularly good at cooking, etc. I think a lot of it is an unfortunate stereotypical mindset - I don't think they're trying to be oppressive, they just have expectations of me (and other people) based on society rather than based on abilities as an individual.
