I usta didn't see the point but these days I get so little recognition (lol).

They're essentially pointless because no one uses them the way they're meant to be used.

@karolinak1999, Props are meant to be given for specific things, that's why there's categories. For example if someone submitted a video that I liked I would give them a video prop. It's supposed to be praise for the content you submit to Fanpop. But users give props every time they comment on someone's wall or when they win a contest- randomly choosing the category. So I may have a hundred video props but that doesn't mean I've submitted a hundred awesome prop-worthy videos.

I like my medals more, makes me feel like my hard work on that club payed off . Well except for when I post 5 pictures and get a medal out of the blue, because 8 people have fanned them. But props are okay, don t mind them.

completely pointless now considering people use it to talk instead giving you a prop for your actual videos -_-

I think it's nice of people to give them to others. Especially if it's for something specific (e.g. if someone gives an "article" prop to someone for writing an article they enjoyed reading).

The system's handy for when you're the one wanting to give them out too. It's a cool way to show extra appreciation for a certain contribution (if you feel like adding an image or article to your favourites didn't do it justice). I like giving them to people who I feel did something a little extra for the fandom!

They make me smile when I receive them, but I'm not "give me props right now!".
