Fanpop Article: Why I Left Fanpop

G'day Fanpoppers! Hope Du are all well.
I've just swooped in to give Du guys an explanation as to why I have left the site last week.
Firstly, many thanks to those of Du who emailed me wanting to know what had happened to my profile. Some thought my account had been hacked,others assumed I had been suspended as a user. To be totally honest, I wasn't in any mood to reply to numerous emails indiviually nor did I want to bother with explanations.
However,this link was linked to my account on Facebook yesterday Von a fellow Fanpopper, so I thought the decent thing to do was answer this myself.
I was a user on here for over 18 months and this place was like my Sekunde Home - truly. I felt very content and comfotable on the site.
From the very beginning, Du guys were always very nice to me and made me feel very welcome here. But over time I saw things that I did not particularly think were right oder fair happening on the site. Users verbally abusing other users, mild kind of bullying going on,etc. I chose to ignore a lot of that and just carry on and do what I was here to do. BUT there is some things one cannot turn a blind eye to. oder should not!
I didn't come on here to start a battle oder to rubbish the site oder any users in any way. My aim is to express my disappointment at how some user behaviour should not be tolerated.
Anyway,it's the double standards and unfairness that seems to be happening here that has made me discontent and disappointed enough to want out. Medals, over 1,000 props,Fan of the Year,etc really means very little to me in comparison to integrity and what I believe to be right from wrong.
I fully realize that not everyone will like oder agree with what I have had to say here. But I have not sagte anything that is not a fact. Some people wanted to know why left the 'pop so I have explained it as honestly as I can.
There's just one last thing I really want to say and that is how great in particular the young kids on here are. As the mum of a 20-year-old, I am fully aware of how harrowing teenagers can be,lol, but Du guys are awesome. Some of Du are way Mehr mature than many adults I know and I thank Du all for being so sweet and kind.
I thank Fanpop and the F4 for the time that I spent on here as it was special to me and I will miss it and the people. But now it's time to Bewegen on.

makintosh I think Cammie can do whatever she likes to do. If she wants to come back the site, we'll be here with open arms. If she signs in only to talk with her friends, it's okay with me. If she still wants to be out of the site, I respect her decision. The only thing I know is Cammie was/is one of the best fanpoppers ever.

tushtush Can't believe I only just saw this. :O That's what three months of almost fanpop celibacy will do to ya. This is horribly upsetting, Cammie! I know you won't read this, but maybe one day you'll come back. I wasn't aware of the WileE-Quixote thing at all, and it is really horrible. He once sent me the nicest email I have ever received and was truly and asset to fanpop. Whoever made these accusations was terrible, but what I don't understand is why they were believed. However, I see that this is all a thing of the past, and I missed the drama so won't have the 'lowdown' until you come back. Which is why you must come back! Please Cammie, we've already had one fanpop casualty, why have another? It really isn't the same without you. Really. :'(

nandacavalieri I've been a not active use for so long that I've only seen this now... I understand you though... I thought many times about leaving Fanpop. But something always keep me here, my friends. I used to love this site, but I strongly believe Fanpop was not built to have so many people. I miss you. And I'm thankful for the times you helped me, said words of kindness, made me laugh and made me love the classics even more :D (ok... that looks morbid, lol) I don't know we can keep contact, because I don't think you'll read this, but if you do send me a message or anything like that... thanks for being you ;)

OK, everybody, let's all just take some deep breaths. I've been looking at Kommentare within the last half Stunde about the new Fanpop layout that has thrown all of us for a loop.

There was a similar outcry of disbelief over, what I am choosing to call, the link. I am here Schreiben this to gather everyone's collective panic and misgivings into one place, as well as to try and look at the positives of these Kürzlich changes, in an attempt to placate some of your fears.

First of all, let's get the obvious out of the way. AH! OMIGAWD! Fanpop LOOKS WEIRD AND IS ALL DIFFERENT! It's like Facebook and YouTube...

Ah props. They used to be a way to acknowledge on a peer to peer level that someone has gepostet something good. Back in my Tag we used to give Requisiten if someone gepostet a good video, oder sagte something intelligent but now they're thrown out like...condoms in high schools? *shrugs*

What are props?
Props are small Medaillen that Du can give to other users if Du see them post something good.
eg; User_X posts a good video, User_Y gives User_X a video prop!

How can I give someone a prop?
You can give users Requisiten Von going to their Profil and clicking on the "Give Props" button, then type them a short message...

I’m Schreiben this Artikel because I believe the new Wand system has real potential of improving the way people use the props. I realize that not all fanpoppers will follow my advize, but I still feel the urge to write this.

I’ve been on Fanpop for quite some time now, and I’ve received and gegeben quite a few props. However, only a small amound of the Requisiten I received were ‘real props’. Recently i finally found how to screencap a page on the internet. I had been looking for ages and finally i found out how to.Naturally i was very pleased and was waiting for a chance to use it.

My Joy was short lived

Days went by,days turned into weeks and after a Monat and a half i found nothing. For the times i had been on Fanpop i had read the funniest, silliest things in spots and now that i could finally share them ,everyone became sensible?

This is a little game I made up just because I was bored. I enjoy it, so I figured I’d share it.
Just a warning: This game is only fun if there’s a spot you’ve added a lot of Bilder to, but enough have been added Von other people to make it challenging.

So, the object of the game is to... get lots of points? And to encourage proper image etiquette.

Be sure to keep something handy to keep track of your points! (Paper and pencil, blank word document, calculator, etc.)

The Fanwhore: Have Du ever been added Von someone, and then when Du went to their Profil to possibly add them back, saw only posts with things like "Thanks for the add!" as far as the eye could see? Congrats, you've just met a Fanwhore. This person is pretty much just obsessed with getting fans. They can spend hours adding people, and will usually add back anyone who adds them. They tend to have obscenely large numbers of fans, and to get them obscenely fast. Can go ballistic if they haven't gained at least five new Fans in the last hour.
Also, some Fanwhores tend to reform after a while,...

Nobody likes it when others ruin their fun Von telling them the end of the story. Some people just aren't as caught up with others because they're busy oder haven't gotten around to it. Whether it's your Favorit TV Zeigen and you're a few episodes behind oder a book that Du haven't read yet, the last thing Du want is for someone to tell Du what happens. Spoilers can ruin the fun for everyone else and the last thing we want to do is take the fun out of your Favorit stuff.

A lot of users were unhappy when Fans were making picks that were spoilers during the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly...

Lately I have noticed a swell in the amount of inappropriate comments. Kommentare that have sexual innuendo, are hurtful, oder are just plain gross, and most of the time they have nothing to do with the topic at hand. What I fail to grasp is why people feel like they need to do this. I can't understand why they can't control themselves and write something appropriate oder nothing at all. Is it a lack of sense of humor? Do they not realize that people spend a lot of time contributing to this site and a Kommentar like that can make all their efforts feel wasted? oder do they not...
