Have Du ever gone to a spot and seen 3 Links with the exact same title? Have Du ever seen a video of an annual event and wondered if it was from this Jahr oder last years show? Gone through a whole video on a spot and wondered why it was there? The problem is generic titling. There is a very simple solution for this that I will explain to Du and help Du put into play in your everyday Fanpopping.

Have I read this Artikel before??? I just can't tell with this generic title!

Mehr generic titles might be ok for pictures (I mean really how specific can Du get with a picture.... Amy Adams in a green dress waving at the camera, but not the same as the last picture because in this one she is smiling. Now that is just silly), however on Artikel oder Videos Du can get a little Mehr specific. It is really frustrating to see a link titled "Amy Adams Biography." Which one exactly? Do Du know how many of those there are on the internet??? There are 2,330 according to google. Von putting a Titel like that Du are essentially making that link useless. Another example is seeing Videos titled "Jack Black".... Ok, Jack Black doing what? If it's a trailer for a new movie he is in I want to watch that, but if it is a strip tease.... not so much. I think Du understand what I am getting at.

Ladies and gentlemen there is a very simple solution to this problem, and that is make your Titel a little Mehr specific. For example if it is a commercial for the 2006 Kid's Choice Awards that featured Jack Black Du could Titel it "Jack Black in '06 Kid's Choice Awards Commercial." Do Du see how that is Mehr helpful than just "Jack Black?" That way if I am interested in the Kid's Choice Awards I can watch that video oder if I am not I can skip it without wasting time and effort figuring out what it is. Also in reference to the Amy Adams Biography Du could put in the Titel what site it is on like "Amy Adams Biography on Starpulse.com." It gives the Artikel a little Mehr identity and makes sure it doesn't get Lost in the shuffle. That way a person can tell if they have read it before without having to waste time going to the site and checking it to see if they have read it.

I will close with a Liste to that Du can use to Titel your Bilder oder videos:
1. If this is a video to an annual event make sure to add the Jahr to the Titel (e.g. Commercial for the 2008 Oscars).
2. If is has a specific person add that person's name to the Titel (e.g. Steve Carell's Apperance as Uncle Arthur in Bewitched).
3. If it is from a specific website, Du can use the Titel of the site in the Titel to make it a little Mehr specific (e.g. John Krasinski Biograpy on TV.com).
4. If it is a specific episode of a Zeigen be sure to add the Season and Episode numbers (e.g. "The Office" The Dundies- Season 2 Episode 1).
5. Make sure Du are specific about what kind of media it is such as: a commercial, a clip, a Fan video, a slide show, oder a full episode (e.g. Amazing by: Lonestar- Jim and Pam Fan Video).

x-missmckena-x i hate that with the episodes when someone just puts up say season 6 episode 5 then theres not description or episode name and the keywords are the shows name full episode and what season its in! good article!

Temptasia Your right DR.D! I think it is important to also put as much information as you can in the title though, and anything else that can't fit there or a deeper explaination can go in the description box. That way you can see at a glace what the exactly the link is!

aholic I almost use 10 keywords to everything. Lori is right. If you are'nt sure then just look at the discription, but if that's not there then it is a problem, yes.

I heart pick additions! Truly!

Just out of curiousity, how do people feel when they've created a pick, find pictures, spell- and grammar-proof the question, finally send it out to the world -- and two weeks later discover new choices that r ovrwhielminley mispeled, say "all of the above" oder "none of the above", oder are green numbers among all of the pretty pictures?

Well, Du can read between the lines for my opinion. But I don't know whether this is a personal irritant oder whether many Mehr besides me feel this way.

Of course, there is a time and place for everything. Crazy_chica added a "None of the above" option to my link...

Why is it on Bilder that there are so many Mehr Ansichten than there are people who rated it? It makes me really sad, because I like to see what people think of the content I add. Now, I realize that there are people who view Bilder a Mehr than once, but what I don't understand is when some of my Bilder have 87 Ansichten and only 2 people (one of which is me) who rated it. In the past I used to be guilty of this, however after adding a lot of content I realized that how good it made me feel when people took the 2 Sekunden it takes to rate my content. I mean Du are already there, and Du veiwed it,...
