Hi guys, this Artikel is on whether oder not Disney should make a film on a famous Shakespearean play.

What a Great Idea!

I think it's time for Disney to try something different, so Shakespeare is definitely one of these ideas. Some of his famous plays are 'As Du Like It' oder 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' that Disney should give it a shot!

Not a Great Idea!

Many of his plays are very dark, morbid and sad for a Disney film, in the likes of 'Macbeth', 'Romeo & Juliet' and 'Hamlet' just to name a few.

glelsey Well, Hamlet and Romeo & Juliet have already been loosely done by Disney... except they had far happier outcomes and were about lions. It would be interesting to see them produce a movie that was more obviously based on a Shakespeare play though. Due to Disney's "good always triumphs over evil" rule, I definitely agree with you in that it'd be wiser to do a comedy rather than a tragedy if the company is to stay as close to the story as possible. A Midsummer Night's Dream would be an excellent choice for the company because it's got a lot of comedy and a lot of romance (both of which are generally abundant in the Disney canon). I wouldn't mind seeing Disney tackle another tragedy of Shakespeare's, but like they did with The Lion King and its sequel, a lot would need to be changed so it is suitable for Disney's usual family-friendly audience. A comedy would definitely give them more opportunity to be faithful to the original!
