For some reason the ending to this always made me kind of sad...I guess b/c she left her entire family behind, and I cannot even fathom doing that.

I guess because it's a sad ending and I like happy endings. It is a beautiful one though.

Well, Ariel wasn't leaving them forever at the end of the original. It ends with Triton showing he can turn her between mermaid and human really easily, so I don't see why they wouldn't visit eachother regularly if he can do that. It would be as easy for them to visit eachother as for a normal person to visit if their family lived down the road, which I always thought was really uplifting, showing Ariel can finally get the best of both worlds. That's disregarding the bleeping sequel of course which took that uplifting ending and shoved eleven years of poop on it (ok, last gripe about that sequel. I'm becoming such a broken record about hating it, I need to stfu, lol), but since that didn't come out for years after the original, that's always what I assumed they did when I was a kid.

I never liked Snow White's ending, but since she usually goes out first it's still always nice to see her not kicked out on the first pick, even if I don't like her ending.
I hope Pocahontas wins, I always loved that bittersweet ending.

Mermaid-Tail, I've always thought it would be so fun to Melody and be like "Oh, for Christmas Break, I'm doing the usual, me and my family are turning into mermaids and go to Atlantica for a few weeks." That's like my dream life!!!

Well, I was a little girl when TLM came out, so it kind of confused me...b/c it was like she was telling her Daddy goodbye for good...now that I'm older, I get it...it just still strikes me as a little sad...giving up your family and the only life you've ever known all for one guy...I would never do it, but I'm no Ariel either, lol...

Well, that's what I'm saying, she wasn't giving them up. Not any more than a person who moves down the road from their family is giving them up. And she was giving up the bits she didn't like about the only life she'd known, but would still be able to visit and have the good, like the best of both worlds, and it wasn't for a guy, she wanted to leave before seeing Eric. That's just how I saw it though, and we all see the ends differently. Like lots of people don't like Pocahontas' ending, but it's one of my favourites :)

That would be epic Dweeb. You could be like "Oh, going to the beach for your vacation. Yeah, yeah that sounds fun. Oh, me? I'll be under the sea singing songs with a crab about how great it is being a mermaid...but, uh your thing sounds fun too"

As you see in the second movie, she's not giving them up for good. In fact, she bridged the hate gap betweenthe humans and the mermaids. Its clear he will visit her.

As for visiting a guy she just met, you have to realize this is a disney movie, and they don't have complex characters.

Anyway,I'm upset Aladdin is gone, that one's my favorite

So glad Aladdin's gone. I expected it to be at least in the top 5, but thanks to the Genie its already out. Otherwise Im sure itd be in the top 3.

i DO like Pocahontas' ending, honestly i do, its so heartbreaking and it gives me goosebumps, but the fact that its sad makes it my least favourite out of these as i prefer happy endings :)

I know! I remembered! Pocahontas is one of my fav endings...so powerful
