She really was such a backwards step. To go from Tiana to Rapunzel...
Although I do like that Flynn cut it.

I think it's quite touching that Flynn cut it, really. It does say volumes about how much he was willing to sacrifice for her. But yeah...cutting it herself would also be pretty cool. :)

By cutting her hair, he sacrifised his life for her freedom- I loved that! I don't know, perhaps it would have benn nice if Rapunzel had cutted her hair herself, but it wouldn't be as emotional.

I agree with Maria7Potter.

He was a selfish character and this was necessary to redeem him. Rapunzel is equally heroic because she proved she was willing to make the same sacrifice by offering to be chained up for the rest of her life to save him. I like how they both showed selfless acts of love.

I loved that Eugene cut it. It just shows you how much he has growen to care for Rapunzel, and I find it really heartwarming.

Seriously, why should it bother me? He cut her hair to set her free even when he knew he would die. I think it's very romantic what he did. Giving up his own life for her freedom only proves how much he loved her.

^ Because princesslullaby wanted Rapunzel to defeat the villain just like Tiana was the one who defeated Dr. Facilier, be like "Girl power. I don't need a man to solve my problems. I can save my own damn self."

But Flynn cutting it made it romantic.

Regardless of it being a possibility or not, they could have changed the ending around so she cut it herself.

^It would've been pretty cool if Rapunzel healed Flynn, then as she was turning to go back to Gothel, she picked up a shard of glass and cut her own hair with fiery anger. But then she would've been the only one who did the selfless acts, and Flynn wouldn't have really redeemed himself.

it bothered me that it got cut that short. i understand that flynn did it to save her life or whatever, but he didnt have to cut off THAT MUCH!!!

it would have been nice if she didn't tell her "mother" that she knew she was the princess then when she left she could have cut her hair. but it makes for a good sceene at the end when flynn cut it

No, I like that he did it. It was unexpected. I was expecting her to do it, but he ends up doing it. I like things in stories to be unpredictable sometimes. It makes it more exciting and new to watch. Plus, it shows how much he loves her that he sacrificed himself to save her.

that would have been okay. i dont really care. But Flynn sacrificing himself for her made me love him more. && Rapunzel is still a very powerful princess. she is great with a frying pan. && I like that she still loved Gothel in the end. && i dont think she would have been okay knowing that she cut her hair that killed Gothel.

Why are we concerned with Flynn looking good. Rapunzel is the star of the movie. Now Flynn looks good and Rapunzel doesn't.

^No, Rapunzel looks good, she was willing to stay with Gothel for the rest of her life as long as Flynn stayed alive. Besides, if Flynn didn't look good his love wouldn't have been convincing.

I guess. I still think Rapunzel should have liberated herself, it would have REALLY signified her independence & breaking away from Gothel.

I thought it was interesting that it would be Flynn to do it since Gothel cut Rapunzel's hair in the original story and kicked her out of the tower. (In the Barbie movie, it's funny how Rapunzel's friends get so upset at Gothel over cutting Rapunzel's hair) I like how Disney did it.

Rapunzel didn't even do that on purpose. It wasn't even heroic, it's like Belle saving the Beast, totally unintentional. Saving them with "love", how typical & sexist.

Well, Rapunzel intentionally wanted to heal him with the magic of her hair. At least she was willing to do that.
