Disney-Prinzessin Since I am curious I am going to take back what I sagte about not wanting to see Brave. But I had good reason I wasn't sure if we needed another DP so soon, what about Du
^ =O OMG, Merida's hair is the most awesomely fantastically wonderfully gloriously beautifully gorgeous, excellent, super-terrific amazing great hair ever in the world...and no, I don't just think so because it looks exactly like mine, which I adore! >;-)
At first I didn't know that I liked her face all that much because she looked so...young...but the more I see, the more I think she's awesome-looking and pretty. Her large eyes and slightly odd eyebrows still seem a bit off to me, but I'm sure I'll get used to the movie's style. I CANNOT wait for Brave!! It looks quite beyond incredible.
Merida is practically a new favorite character of mine already; I just know she's going to officially be as soon as I see it.
So it's been confirmed that she isn't being added to the lineup? Hunh. Well, I was all for it, not because they need another franchise princess (10 is a nice even number), but because Merida is obviously a freaking awesome Scottish princess, and Disney owns Pixar. But it really won't matter to me; I wouldn't want them to exploit or mess her up in some way, and I don't love the members of the princess lineup any more or less than others simply *because* they were selected to compose it.
I'd be fine with mixing Disney and Pixar royalty because Punz has already proven that CG people can fit right in with traditionally animated ones. Pixar retains its autonomy even within the Walt Disney Company, & both studios ARE quite different, but I wouldn't have any personal qualms about mixing Merida or any other Pixar princess character with the Disney ones.
A HTTYD rip-off? No, I do not expect so. That was a good movie unto itself, but thus far, Brave looks like a unique and innovative film to me.
I look forward to the movie. At the same time, I don't want her in the Line-up, not because I think that ten princesses are enough, or because I think it's too soon, but because it's Pixar, and I prefer a clear line between Pixar and the animation studios. They are both good in what they do, but they are also both an entirely different flavor. Mixing them is like eating a bloody steak in vanilla sauce. (with Pixar being the steak).
@heathersvan, I doubt that Merida will be added to the Disney Princess line-up.
I've been looking forward to seeing this film since I first heard about it in 2007, when it was still called The Bear and the Bow.
