She was a fish for much longer than Tiana was a frog. Plus, the only other frog Tiana knew was Naveen, and he wasn't a real frog either. Ariel knows the fish, so she'd be like "OMG, FLOUNDER?!"

well since her friends are fish and she is half fish, plus tiana was a frog for a little while and in Louisiana frogs are eaten all the time plus even though tiana hates frogs at least she wasn't born a frog
