I like Nostalgia Chick's description of Sultan and Maurice having all the masculinity of a weeble. Maurice is cute but he's a dope and would have been utterly useless without Belle but as pitiful as it was, at least he made an effort to save her.

^ But that's like a tradition for Chinese people, especially in the time period Mulan lived in. Every daughter and son's first priority was to honor their family. I'm part Chinese and I was taught to value my family above all else.

I agree with ballgown; Mulan was set in the time period where honors were of high priority and respect to your elders was a must. Besides, Mulan's dad speech at the end -- "The greatest gift and honor is having you for a daughter," -- at the end, while he threw off the sword and medal were awesome! :D

How are the Fa's good parents they tried to make Mulan be something she's not the only good parents are Belle, Jasmine, and Tiana's parents
