Something I didn't like about Brave was the only marriages brought up were only arranged. Even Fergis and Elinor's were arranged. I like movies feauting heroines remaining single and everything but Brave wasn't really that good with it.
And maybe I need to rewatch the movie but besides the parents was relationships or marriage brought up in a positive way at all in the movie? I mean I get that Merida didn't want to get married especially in an arranged marriage but at least with Aladdin there was at least people talking about doing it for love. In Brave marriage was treated like a freaking death sentence
Yes, and we would have this if Moana joins the line up. Not that I take issue with more princesses in future having relationships, but there are so many DP movies focussed on marriage that it would be nice to have more that have nothing to do with marriage. These days, a woman's life does not have to revolve around marriage (at least in western civilisation). So why should it be a major topic in every film with a female protagonist?
