4-5ish. She basically does a lot of stuff Jasmine would want to do. Most of the other princesses would find Merida's actions rude or unnecessary but Jasmine would love her blatant defiance. She'd be smiling from ear to ear watching the "shooting for my own hand" scene.

But Merida doesn't really walk the walk as much as other princesses, Jasmine wouldn't really DISlike that (she of all people could understand talking big game but being unable to back it up) but that's also why Merida wouldn't rank as high as Mulan, Pocahontas or Tiana.

It's weird because I have this instinct that Jasmine would put Merida middling but I don't see why she wouldn't love her. She would love Merida's defiance and absolute refusal to be wed to someone she doesn't love, although for Jas she wanted it to be for romance, and she was open to being married as long as it was for love. For merida, she wasn't ready at all. And she would love Merida's defiance and frankly I don't even think Merida feeding her mom the cake would necessarily bother Jas.

Jasmine would have a lot of common with Merida; didn't want an arranged marriage, being stuck in their kingdom. Jasmine would love Merida's action, which was more than what she can do. She also love how she was able to rule her own life and ask her parents to cancel the marriage and let her to choose what she want to do in her life; something that she doesn't seems able to do without helps from Aladdin. Unless Merida's lack of romantic side wouldn't make her higher on her list I guess.

Definitely. And I think what PL said about Snow is true of Jasmine too: that even though she's a romantic doesn't necessarily mean she'd mind if another DP isn't, as long as she's doing what makes her happy. And Merida does, even if it doesn't involve romance at all. I can't think of anything she wouldn't like.

^exactly. People say "jasmine wouldn't like Mulan because she isn't as feminine". Why would Jasmine care about that at ALL???
