Tangled does have beautiful animation but I don't feel like it's one of the best 3D animations. The skin does look a little plastic compared to other 3D films but the hair looks amazing and the lantern scene is absolutely beautiful. Moana is absolutely GORGEOUS looking. One of the best looking 3D animated films I've ever seen, not the best (That title does to Rise of the Guardians), but definitely one of the best.

Both have nice animation, but Moana's animation feels more smooth.

I find both to be good, or about the same. But they both have that plasticky look for "skin" that is in all CGI movies nowadays, which I happen to greatly dislike.

Both are very weak for a Disney(DreamWorks has the beast animation for me, especially with human characters) animation but Moan's ocean and waves animations looks pretty great. But as the others said, humans looks awfully plastic.

Tangled did come out seven years before Moana did.

Both are great, but Moana was the movie to make my jaw drop.

Clearly superior

Tangled only has a couple of wow moments, as far as animation is concerned. Moana has plenty more.
