MaidofOrleans picked Belle:
I have very similar dreams and desires to Belle, and I love reading, especially fairy tales. I try very hard to look past the surface of people. I can also be a bit of a know-it-all.

I suffer from anxiety and depression and I share a lot in common with her in terms of personality.

wanderingchild7 picked Belle:
Let's make a list:
- I'm stuck in a little suburban area with an unlikely neighbourhood.
- I don't have many friends, and I never had. (Actually only 1 real friend but she is also my sister)
- I can't really speak to others because we have really different tastes and interests.
- I ADORE READING! (Also I want to be an author.)
- I want to break out from my current place and situation. I want to see the world, gather experiences, meet people who understand me.
- I can be a real know-it-all and sometimes I'm a bit snobbish with people.
- I try to look past appearances. And I greatly despise the amount of adoration of beauty in our society.
+ My name means something like "my beauty" in my language.

wavesurf picked Ariel:
Heh. I think ( I know) I have different opinions than other people, which causes other people to often staunchly disagree with me. This leads to lots of fights ( just like in Ariel's case). I'm curious, and I like new adventures. I can keep on doing repetitive things, but it really bores me very quickly. I don't like the same expectations people have for me, over and over again. It's like people want me to stop letting me be "me," and instead fit me into a "box" they like. Something I admire about Ariel's personality is her non-judgmental attitude towards people who are different than she is. When Ariel doesn't know something, she doesn't go around pretending that she knows something she does not know. Too many people in the world, and several Disney princesses, make assumptions or claim to know things when they don't, in fact, know them. That's hypocritical. Thinking you are superior to other people has always bothered me, too. And Ariel does not consider herself superior. Ariel finds herself different from everyone around her, so I am more like her in that respect.

I used to have some of Mulan's earlier flaws also: procrastination, tardiness, etc. And I worked, like Mulan did, to overcome most my flaws. I'm a work in progress... I also took martial arts, just like Mulan.

I still don't fit in anywhere, which makes Ariel not fitting in with the expectations of her family while she's under the sea, and Mulan not fitting in with the expectations of her family and society, relatable. So these are the two princesses who are the most relatable to me, because I can identify with "the outsider" syndrome where everybody wants "to fix" what they consider wrong with you as a person-- and coerce you into obeying "the rules" that they have designed.

I relate to her the most. her situation, her flaws, her dreams. However, I'm more similar to a mix of Ariel and Aurora, which dashes of Merida and Mulan

AudreyFreak picked Aschenputtel:
her, Aurora or Pocahontas- I relate to them all pretty equally, it's hard to choose just one. And I am a lot like Belle, even if she isn't my favorite.

Cinderella- similar "stuck" situation and history, feelings of frustration pented up, love of animals, good with crafts, resourceful, subtle snark.

Aurora- very connected to nature and animals, considered too passive and timid by others (though out of universe for her I guess), daydreamy, easily flustered with strangers, imaginative and similar taste in men.

Pocahontas- same with nature and animals, 'passive', we find it difficult to make big choices because of the impact each may have on our lives and loved ones, hates conflict, can be childish, hold onto our ideals.

Belle- very bookish, another 'stuck' situation, don't always reach out to others but want friends, can be intellectually snobbish.

disneymagic93 picked Belle:
Like Belle I don't have a lot of friends & I feel left out at my college. I also relate to Ariel because I'm curious & I feel like I don't belong where I am. I relate to Jasmine because I have moments when I'm feisty. I relate to Aurora as well because I'm an introvert depending on the situation. Sometimes I'm not assertive enough & like I mentioned with other DPs I feel lonely & isolated.

anukriti2409 picked Merida:
i relate to Merida as i'm over-the-top rebellious when someone force me to do something which i absolutely do not want to do. I love my mom so much that it infuriates me to think that she cannot understand my choices and my need for independence. And i have come to learn that there are other ways to make someone understand your opinions other than being rebellious and loud about it. I also have wild, curly hair :D
I also relate with belle mostly coz of my desire to explore and experience new things in life and I'm a total sucker for books, i often can read the same book many times. And i always looks beyond surface when i talk to people and have great capacity to accept others the way they are, as i expect the same from them when they think of me.

UnholyNoise picked Elsa:
Mostly Elsa. I have anxiety problems and I handle -- or don't handle -- them in a very similar way. That's why it burns my toast when people say Elsa isn't a good representative of people with anxiety -- there isn't this one uniform way for people to have anxiety, and some people do find her very imperfect way of facing it relatable.

And aurora, pretty much for the same reasons audreyfreak listed

MissCinico picked Mulan:
Pleasing family, working hard, failing, striving for honor, making goals that seem impossible, feeling a little less than worhtless most of the time, clumsy, lazy, but resourceful, considerate, but easily distracted, and seemingly simple minded. I almost chose Tiana, but I'm not nearly as hard of a worker and I often socialize rather than get into responsibility.

I'm not surprised lots of people choose Belle though, I think she relates to everyone a good amount.
