John's concept art does look more appealing, Pocahontas really is one of the lesser intelligent princesses and it does seem like their is centered around how "exotic" other person.

Anyway, yeah, the ending is amazing.

Naya Rivera is latina though...Why would a Latina woman play a Native American???

Otherwise, this. I also don't think the sequel is as bad as the other Disney sequels and I do think Poca and John simply like each other due to how exotic they appear to the other one.

^And yet I don't get it. The internet spends hours bitching about whitewashing and all that, but suddenly swapping one non-white race for another is good? It's like the thing with the Jungle Book remake, everybody is happy for it having a diverse cast (Idris Elba and Lupita Nyong'o will play Shere Kahn and the mother wolf respectively) despite the fact that the majority of the actors starring in it aren't even hindi. And seeing how the setting is in India, I think it's a big issue.

IDK it's just something very weird to me. And somewhat racist, like assuming all races are the same and interchangeable. "The character is a native american in the story but he'll be played by an african american actor, no problem. All browns are the same anyway".

And I can turn the tables around and say that what you are stating can be just as racist. Like how our racial background identifies us so much that we cannot star as someone from another race. And let's be real, Disney is not exactly historically accurate nor is it that on point with differing cultures.

this and Kocoum. I do find it funny Poca seems to be considered so mature and intelligent when actually she acts just like a common teenager- prone to lacking common sense and making impulsive decisions quite a bit. I wonder if she looked younger if she'd receive more criticism for it as the younger-looking girls do.

and I agree with Scarlet. a white actress not too long ago played Princess Tiger Lily and people were unhappy about it but everyone seems on board with Naya or Shay Mitchell- who is half Fili- playing her. Plus I just don't see any resemblance with Naya and Poca (which is ironic because Poca is based on a white model and black one, and Naya is both, so you'd think I would). I DID love the girl who played her in that one movie I forget the name of- Q'ianka something. she looked just like Poca.

Ok I won't argue any longer but I'll just say that for me.. it's Naya Rivera, her singing voice is one of the best there is. She could play any of the Princesses for all I care, I'd be psyched.

Also, Journey to a New World is a good sequel.

This is the only DP scene to make me tear up. :)
