Of course there are gorgeous overweight women but that's not what matters, being overweight is usually not healthy so I don't think it's something that should be promoted. On the side note, we already talk enough about self-esteem and being comfy in your own skin in media nowadays.

I grew up seeing my obese grandmother walk around naked and from that now I can't stand seeing fat.

Not just for the sake of one. It just becomes a gimmick and I'm not really fond of that.

Overweight is not healthy, just like being anorexic, bulimic or having eating disorders isn't healthy. Disney Princesses aren't supper skinny, they are just drawn that way and they are in a normal weight (except for Mulan who is said to be skinny).

Not obese, but I would like to see someone with a larger figure. Not a princess, maybe but I would like to see it.

I wish their was one that could make those that have trouble with gaining weight feel like they belong. I feel like all the girls in the movies are perfect weight by default. I want to see one that can make people that have health problems that cause them to gain too much weight feel happy.

Someone with more realistic body or maybe ever so slightly overweight would be great. But I think it is unrealistic to have young people from past centuries to be obese and it would just feel like a gimmick. Many wish to have princesses with imperfections like a bold one or one with glasses etc. but it would feel a bit silly to me. I do think one´s self- esteem should be tied to what a cartoon character looks like. Modern day lead female characters that look like this would be fine however, character does not need to be a princess to be loved! It would feel less like a gimmick and more organic and realistic. But if there would be a overweight princess I would not be annoyed, I just do not think it would be necessary.

Being obese is not healthy, princesses must give a good example to little girls, they're supposed to be good role models. I would like a princess that has a more realistic body, like Nani, but obese is a different thing...

Obese is not something healthy. Young people look up to them. They wouldn't want to promote something unhealthy. A curvier person would be totally fine, but an overweight princess? No.

Disney will never do an overweight princess, they will always promote skinny good looking princess, so we already have an overweight princess, Fiona from Shrek, i know is not a DP but at least is an overweight princess and we should think of her when we think about this topic. People should stop asking Disney to do an overweight princess because in my opinion it will never happen, what about DreamworkdsAnimation?. Just because Disney is well know for their princess it doesn't mean that we should think of it or ask them to do an overweight princess, there're a few more animation studios that i think will be glad to do it.

Like they said not obese.

Though an overwight princess would help little chubby girl feel more welcome and accepted. I find unrealistic figures there cartoon bodies really. It should be promoted and accepted. It won't be saying be fat, it's fine. It's saying that you are bit heavier. I was on the heavier side when I was younge. I am starting to grow out of it, but for teen girls during puberty they may gain a lot of weight. I did and still got a bit if myself on the chubby side, but I'm losing it. I would of loved a chubbier role model to look up to, I used to get teased and a fatter princess would of shut them up. Fat seems bad, but sometimes it is hard to help. Being an early bloomer, I got a bit chubbier quicker and soon the girls caught up fast with or the usual signs but I was made fun if and a DP would if helped me to get through everything easier.

When I was younger I heard somebody on the playground say I want to be like Cinderella-she's pretty, I want to be like Barbie. Kids look up to them for looks not personality I think. A chubbier DP may make it easier to accept. Like Barbie is especially stick thin and that is an un normal weight. If she was fatter I am sure people wouldn't get teased as much. I don't see the skinner ones getting teased and now I know somebody who is anorexic. That's a lot harder to fix than having some puppy fat.

Again though they should ease stuff like this in. It can't happen overnight.

342anna, but many girls that are perfect size are this way because their body doesn't react to anything. I know so many people that will eat and eat and eat so much junk yet they don't gain weight. Yet their are girls like my friend who will eat one thing and they start to gain weight or people that have a hard time balancing their meals or whatever. Having Disney Princesses being thin is not gonna give girls someone to look up to, it's not like we even know if the DPs are the types of people that work hard to get to be a good size or if they just don't gain weight.

^Yeah, you may be right. I myself sometimes don't fit myself to be in the perfect shape (sometimes I find myself a bit overweight). And you're right there are girls who can't help but gain weight, and still just worry about that instead of doing some kind of exercise, the go on stupid diets instead of eating healthy food and that doesn't help them. So it would be good to see a Princess who does something to keep her body in shape and that tells girls what to do, instead of having eating disorders, but not a fat Princess.
Uh, and there are people who can't gain weight. An example is my sister, she eats more than me and she is stick skinny and tall, that's why she reminds me of Mulan.
