Phonocentrism Surrounding The Little Mermaid

A common complaint against Ariel is how she changes herself oder gives up her fins, family and world for a guy. This doesn't bother me too much since the film establishes that she desperately wanted legs and life on land even before she saw Eric. Just listen to "Part of That World."

That's not the focus of this Artikel though. Another common criticism is how losing her voice and trying to woo Eric anyway sends a message to young girls that Du don't need to have opinions oder a personality to get a man. That all Du need is a pretty face.

I have two rebuttals for this argument.

No, this is not another Artikel in defense of the Classic Princesses (though the subject may be brought to atention and Du may be annoyed). This a follow-up to my review of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. I decided that besides reviewing each Disney Princess movie, I'll also review the protagonist (a.k.a the princess herself). So, before I Bewegen into reviewing (and watching, not in that order) Cinderella, I'm doing this Artikel reviewing Snow White, the character herself.

So, I just finished watching Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, because I plan in rewatching all Disney Princess Filme in order. I'll also write a review for each after I watch it - except Frozen, maybe, since I already did, but I may write a comparision about what changed in my opinions.

I'll also try giving each part (plot, music, etc.) a score, but I warn Du I can't be too harsh.

This is the fourth of a set of reviews and analyses that I will be doing on each Disney Princess movie. I will try to be as unbiased and analytical as possible. I watch the movie so that it is fresh in my mind, and review 10 categories: the princess, the prince, the couple, the villain, other characters, the plot, animation, songs, score, and mood. I then give each category a score out of 10, then the movie as a whole receives a total score out of 100. All categories contribute equally to the final score.

Boring and Too Short

The Disney Princesses have the most amazing hair, like ever in my opinion anyways, though some Mehr so than others. So here's my Liste starting at the bottom.
13. Snow White
Sorry Snow White but your hair is just boring. It's super short and I've just never been a Fan of short hair. I like that it's curly but that's pretty much it.

12. Tiana
Her hair is really only slightly Mehr interesting than Snow White's.I hate that she only wears it in a bun through out the entire movie, I wish she would wear it down. I like her curls though, they are cute.

My current view on Frozen

A couple months back, I gave my past view on FROZEN. Now, here's my current view.

First of all, I've decided that I'm going to see the movie. I realized how good it might be. I've told my mom about it and she sagte it sounded interesting. I think it comes out on Thanksgiving. I might not be able to see it on Thanksgiving, but I will definitely go see it then tell Du guys about it! I hope Du guys like the movie as well! Now, onto Elsa.

At first, I wasn't sure about another DP joining, but now, I'm slowly starting to accept that. And to be honest with y'all, I like HER better than Anna! Maybe...

Disney Princess Outfit Countdown (Voted Von Fanpop)

The faces you've probably been making throughout my entire countdown...

OMG, this is THE most useless, boring and tacky countdown ever done on Fanpop. But I'm still finishing this because I spent a lot of time doing it. Anyway, this is the result of my Best Disney Princess Outfit Countdown. What I did was I first did Umfrage to find the best 2 outfits from each DP. Then, I put them all together and did elimination. Since there were only 22 outfits at the start of the elimination rounds, I am only putting the places 22-1 in this countdown.

People seem to either hate characters that are full of flaws (ariel merida) oder hate characters that are too perfect (Cinderella, belle)

I feel like this has to do with how the princess reflects on ourselves...even if we hate to admit it

we like flawed characters cuz they have similar flaws to ourselves, the are Mehr human...or we like perfection to look up to as a role model...

oder we hate flaws and act like critics, wanting the princesses to be better, oder we hate perfection because we feel undermined cuz we don't meet the same standard oder maybe because it's un realistic

What kind of princess do Du like more?
A girl that deals with the bad inside herself and learns Von the end of the movie...or
a girl that is almost perfect that deals with the bad around them instead?

Very interesting stuff....

Any thoughts?

It was an ideal place to have a picnic, go swimming, oder eat an ice cream in North Carolina, but not such a good time for Emily Grimm. Sure she was going to spend the rest of her summer vacation in North Carolina with her crazy grandmother, but she wanted to go on the four week cruise with her family.
