Why Ariel and Mulan are my Favorit Princesses

So this is gonna be a kind of short quick article. But since I'm new to the spot I thought I'd kind of just let everyone know who my two Favoriten are and why.

Ariel

I like Ariel for a few reasons. One of which is the fact that I like her story line the best. I Liebe the whole underwater thing and the fact that she's one of the only not human Princesses is pretty cool. I was in Liebe with the idea of her trying to become human...and the fact that she traded her voice for legs was very unique. Her story was just a fun watch.

I also really Liebe her voice. It's just so pretty and soothing and what not. When I first watched The Little Mermaid I was maybe 4 oder 5 years old. At that time I was the child who would sing silently to myself (much to the annoyance of my classmates when I was like 6 oder 7 lol). And I remember quite clearly going to the strand with my family and just Singen oder humming Ariel's musical numbers.
That sagte I like the memories associated with her.

Another thing I enjoyed was her personality. She was a teen who wanted and collected items but not to the point she was spoiled. She, like most teens, would sass and disobeyed her dad...but not to the point where it was off putting for me. I think she was Merida - Legende der Highlands and just generally a fun character.

Mulan

Much like Ariel, I simply loved her story line very much. I was fond of the whole disguising as a man to help her father, the whole getting found out but still going to save everyone thing. I also think it was cool of Disney to make an Asian princess.

Naturally I also liked her for her personality. She was unique, she had balls. LOL puns. But seriously it takes spunk and bravery to go Mitmachen an army...espically since females weren't allowed to do so in Mulan's story. She was funny and had a bit of sass. I can always appreciate sass in a character.

I also think she's very pretty. Whether she's dressed in man's cloths oder women's, the girl is beautiful. I guess this is kind of a shallow reason to like a character, but it's a factor no less.

MissCassecou I clicked this straight away because Mulan and Ariel are my favourite princesses too! 2. Ariel 1. Mulan They're brilliant, and I love them for their movie (story, songs, emotions etc), personality, actions, how they're both revolutionary individuals and stood up to society, followed their dreams and saved other people; both very brave. Of course due to nostalgia as well, I would watch their films over and over again and fall in love with their characters each time I watched them. I also like their relationships; especially with their fathers and sidekicks (and love interests of course.) I can't go on because this is a longish comment already, but we both love the same princesses!!! High five!

8804 Welcome to the club! There are a few of us here who love both Ariel and Mulan. Most people here, either love only Mulan and hate Ariel, or they hate them both. This was a good article! The few of us who love both Ariel and Mulan welcome you!! I also have good memories associated with these two gals. These girls made me laugh, and these ladies kept me interested/invested in what would happen to them in their stories. Not a lot of the Disney Princesses did that, for me.

zanhar1 @MissCassecou You have good taste my friend. I totally agree, both movies are works of art visually and music-number wise. And the characters are written with such care. Despite the fact that these two are my favorite princesses I think that I have the most nostalgia with Belle, Beauty and the Beast was that one movie that I would watch as a kid and then right when it was over rewind the video tape. I loved Mulan with Mushu--companionship-wise, that was some hilarious stuff. *High fives back* @8804 Thank you. Really? That's interesting...and probably good to know lol. Once again, thanks. :D It's a pleasure to be welcomed. Same here the more memories I can attach the better. Though my Mulan feels actually came in high school--we watched it as a class on the last day. It was the one time everyone put aside their differences (ya know the petty high school dramas) and just laughed together. Totally agree, generally I hate the main characters and root for the antagonists. With Mulan it was the opposite. With the Little Mermaid I loved both Ariel and Ursula.

MalloMar I love what you said about these Princesses! Mulan is one of my favorites and I really like Ariel. I consider both movies masterpieces. I'm curious, have you seen any of the sequels to these movies? If so, what do you think of them. Sequels are generally disliked here, but I happen to like both of the Little Mermaid sequels to some extent.

zanhar1 Thank you. :) Totally agree, I feel like Disney as a whole is one big masterpiece. I've seen the sequels but I very vaguely remember them. The one I remember the most is that Christmas Beauty and the Beast, but even that one is really fuzzy. I recall being rather fond of that one. I think I was cool with most of the sequels. I do however remember loving the absolute crap out of the Little Mermaid tv show!

KataraLover You have very good taste! As you know from the Once Upon A Time fan club, I've always shamelessly ADORED Ariel! I love her SO MUCH that a while back I wrote an article defending her and explaining why I love her in almost as much detail as you do in your Regina and Azula articles lol. I also watched The Little Mermaid TV series A LOT! I also watch Beauty and The Beast and The Enchanted Christmas every Christmas Eve because I LOVE it! Mulan is in my top 5 favorite Disney Princesses. She used to be my second favorite until I started loving Merida (even though she's a false action girl) and Rapunzel more. I might even love Belle more... MAYBE. Very good choices for your top 2 favorites. I'm glad that you'll be becoming more active on this club, since you're one of my closest friends on Fanpop. Although, it's going to be kind of odd seeing you talking about a princess that wasn't trying to conquer the world, has a dysfunctional family, lost her mind, and shoots blue fire and lighting at people LOL. When I saw you were the one who made this article, I knew it wouldn't be in great detail because we both know villains are more your forte. But you're not alone, another close friend of mine on this club naked cruella is A LOT more interested in villains than the good guys. Very nice article and welcome to the club.

zanhar1 @reflection Indeed they are. @KataraLover You too man. :P Ariel is amazing I love her as well. I was happy to have she and Ursula on Once. That's a lot of detail. xP Gosh that show was the shit, I remember there was this episode with this Urchin dude and he was all mad at Sebastian because Sebastian wouldn't stop talking about his trophy and it made my whole childhood exciting. Merida is pretty cool too, I think she's in my top 5. Aww thanks, you and avatar_tla_fan are the two who made me want to become more active here; I noticed that a lot of my friends hang here. Yeah, my fandoms and interests range from The Walking Dead and Resident Evil to Bad Girls Club to Winx and Disney Princesses. Basically my interest list is a hot mess. It is odd though, talking about liking protagonists as opposed to antagonists as I usually do. x3 Damn you do know how I roll lol. I put a lot of passion into my villain love. Thank you, thank you. It's a pleasure being here thus far. Ya'll seem so close, like such a big family.
