The Weiter day, plans for Merida's Get Well Soon feast began to go underway. Mulan, Pocahontas, and Nakoma did the Essen picking, Shang and John did the heavy lifting, and Ping, Mace, and the other kids did card making. Chief Powhatan made sure Merida didn't get the tiniest bit suspicious. "Why are Du here?" Merida asked trying not to sound rude. "I thought Du would like to see someone different." Chief Powhatan answered. "You ARE someone different." Merida joked. Chief Powhatan laughed. A nurse suddenly came in.

"I hate to interrupt, but Merida's got a letter." she said. "Must be from me parents." Merida sagte to herself. When she looked at the envelope, she was astounded to find out who it was from. "I can't read this!" she sagte with a million knots in her stomach. "Calm yourself child. I'm sure it's nothing bad." Chief Powhatan soothed. Merida took a deep breath. "Okay." she sagte as she opened the letter.

The letter said:
"Dear Merida, I'm so glad Du forgive me! Back then was a terrible time for me, and I'm glad Du understand that now. I finally have my fears conquered and the control of my powers at bay. I understand Du don't want to be Friends right away. Even though, I'd Liebe to regain that bond with you, I understand if Du don't to now. If we never regain that bond, I'd be honored to be Dunbroch's trading partner! I hope this reaches Du wherever Du are.

Merida was ready about to cry the turquoise right out of her eyes after she read that. "I'm hoping that was something good." Chief Powhatan voiced with a high level of concern. "It was for me." Merida replied with a crack in her voice. *I'm glad she understands!* she thought. She couldn't wait to tell the others when she got out of the hospital. No, let's rephrase that-she KNEW she had to. She folded the letter up and put it in her mantel pocket.

"I know how Du feel." Chief Powhatan said. Merida came clean. "Me and this girl were once friends, and...She had a rumored cousin who has ice powers, and...After..." she trailed before pausing. "Sometimes, Rebel, we have to forgive and forget." Chief Powhatan stated. "That's what I had to do recently." Merida confessed. "You saw Kockum, didn't you?" Chief Powhatan said. Merida nodded. "It was just my subconscious speakin' to me." Merida tried to reassure.

"The warriors have a way of entering our minds." Chief Powhatan said. "How?" Merida asked. "They know when we are in trouble." Chief Powhatan answered. Merida theorized this. "It makes sense to me now. When I was fighting for my life, Kockum reached out to me." she stated. "And told me somethin' I needed to know." she continued. "Our warriors are always watching us." Chief Powhatan replied.

Merida felt her herz flutter. "Don't tell Pocahontas Du know." she said. Chief Powhatan nodded respectfully. Merida didn't like admit her secret often. She only told it to people she trusted. Chief Powhatan left to see how things were going. Merida stared out the window until she fell asleep.
