All those people who criticize Dps and Disney I think has forgot that he grew up with those, we all grew up with Disney. They criticize the princesses, not Cars, not Disney fairies, only princesses, they say that they are not good role Models but they are the best role Models girls could have in any age, If they had Barbie as role model they would be anorexic and they would give all their money in clothes, Barbie is the role model that do the girls in those ages victims of a consumer society, making them buy Mehr and Mehr clothes, did the mothers that believe the critics wan't that. Disney makes perfect role models. oder for the boys, If kids had as role model Winnie the pooh franchise oder anything else they wouldn't watch batman, who for me is a bad role model because he shows variety, Pistolen and deaths, and believe me If they say that DPs are racist because of 2 blonde princesses, what is Batman and barbie, Batman shows all the men fit and like superheroes and Barbie all the girls anorexic, sorry are those role models? (Im sorry to Barbie's and Batman's fans, but that is my opinion). Also a lot of people have as role Models celebrities, some of them are good, some others bad. Som of them take drunks and do botoxs to change their apperiance and because Ariel change her body and make her dream come true and became human she is not a good role model and those Berühmtheiten are? So If they find small negative things to say that they are bad role Models oder racist I will say first that those small negative things don't made them bad, children oder someone that doesn't see the movie with a negative point of view can not find them. Those critics make even mothers believe it. Finally I want to say that they see it in a very selfish way, cause they don't see that those Bewegen made, most of them, in the 20th century and take plece on 14th,15th,17th and other centuries. Also DPs gave me an very big lesson today that no one else could give, not give up, because at first something happened and I lose this article, but then I became stubbon and write it again and believe me If Dps were bad role Models I would not wrote this Artikel oder even fight for those I believe, thanks DPs! MaidofOrleans I agree! I think the critics say that the DPs are bad role models because in the merchandise they are depicted as girls who just sit around and drink tea in their fancy dresses all day. If those critics actually watched the movies, maybe they'd see what great role models these girls really are.

Angelica_AW I do agree that the DPs are good role models, but I have to disagree with you on Barbie. Barbie is a lot like the DPs (the merchandise, the great lessons [always believe in yourself, never give up, ect], the movies, etc). When I was younger I played with Barbie and looked up to her//them, and I'm not anorexic, and I [i]hate[/i] shopping (unless it's for books). The point is, to say one is a good role model and not the other even though they're a lot alike, is hypocritical.

Jessikaroo To criticize and generalize Barbie is wrong. She is the only other franchise/character out there that you can even begin to compare to the DP's really, she's thin and beautiful yes, but she's also [i]always[/i] shown to be kind and true. Not to mention her "wide spectrum of careers" is a good thing too. As far as the claim that children who look up to Barbie become anorexic is wrong too, and a gross misunderstanding of the disease. Beyond that, I agree. The DP's are excellent role models, and I think it's sad that to sell merchandise they have to be educed to their dresses and royal titles. But like any billion dollar franchise, it is flawed. It's not hard to tell that line-up is very pro-thin, pro-elite, and borderline racist, considering how differently PoC's are treated by the company versus the Caucasian girls. To ignore these problems only lets them fester. Also excusing problems based on the time period is wrong. If I was transported back to the 1800's, I wouldn't agree with slavery any more than I do today. When you make movies for a modern market, you consider their ideals. Besides that, I agree. The DP's are great rolemodels, and the flaws of the franchise are similar to the problem with the comic book industry. The important thing to remember when criticizing critics, is you have to considering every side of the argument.
