Last Sunday, Justin Bieber made his return to the MTV VMAs stage with an epic performance of "What Do You Mean?" As the performance came to an end, Justin seemed so overwhelmed with emotion, he burst into tears in front of everyone. Considering Biebs\' rocky past few years not to mention the fact that ex Selena Gomez, who the song is reportedly about, was in attendance, it\'s understandable that his emotions were running high. Not everyone is buying it though, and some critics have accused the singer of staging the moment as a publicity stunt. While Justin has stayed pretty quiet since the VMAs, one of his fellow performers is coming to his defense, saying those tears were 100% real. Oh, and it just happens to be one of Selena\'s BFFs! 

Tuesday night, Demi Lovato stopped by 

, and dished about all things VMAs — including her BFF\'s ex-boyfriend\'s emotional breakdown. When asked if she thought the tears were an act, Demi  replied, "Maybe not, because if you were Justin Bieber for that many years ... you would maybe celebrate if people booed you for so long and then they cheered." Acknowledging she\'d probably react the same say, she added: "I\'d be happy.​"

As for the night\'s other big drama, Demi said she\'s not taking sides in the whole Miley Cyrus/Nicki Minaj feud, saying, "I\'m Switzerland​."
