@misanthrope Good point, I love my dog but we are not sexually active. I also love my siblings and my parents. I don't know very many people who have had sex with a sibling or parent because they love them. In fact I don't know anyone.
I love sex. I think it's fantastic. And I love safe monogamous sex with the person I'm in love with. That is ten times more fantastic than regular old sex. However, there are people, as bri-marie points out, who have absolutely zero interest in sex. This does not preclude them from being able to fall in love with someone. They just won't be interested in the sex part of the relationship, and if both parties feel the same way, then that's a perfectly functional and healthy romantic relationship.
In the same way, I believe that romantic love can exist without kissing, without hand-holding, and without cuddling, if two people don't enjoy this aspect of expressing physical affection. Again, I would suggest that the feeling is mutual. Because if one party likes it and the other doesn't, it's possible the relationship will not last. In the same way that if you have different interests, or less in common than you initially thought, or want different things out of the relationship, it will probably not last.
Romantic love, yeah. Some people just don't want to do it, others are afraid, an their significant other is completely okay with their fear of it.
