Mostly it makes me pissed because now there is no hope for Delena endgame. Not to mention how completely WRONG it is to take someone's characters away from them. She created them, made them into the characters we all love and now they are taking that away from her. It's disgusting.

I should edit, there is no hope for Delena end game in the books (they fired her because they wanted Stelena!) BUT I still have a lot of hope for the show because they aren't that stupid!

^^Exactly. And if you read the books Stelena being endgame doesn't really even make sense anymore. (Especially based on the excerpts of Midnight I've read) it would be so random and out of left field. And please feel free to make a petition, I would sign it for sure!

Yet the publishers are going for a Stelena endgame? I smell a repeat of Edward and Bella.

But if they care about money.. why would they want Stefan and Elena as "soulmates" and less Bonnie? I would say that the Delena and Bamon fanbase is bigger than Stelena. (when it comes too the books)

I just can't see how any fan would be pleased about this. Not even SE fans. Because if I were a Stelena fan, I wouldn't my couple to get endgame because some ghostwriter wrote it that way, while knowing that the REAL author of the books wanted DE.

I'm not buying these stelena books. In respect to LJ smith, and because someone else is taking her book for their own ending. This must be someone's 12 year old daughter who wants another Bella-Edward

But my way of viewing means, they fired Smith & they are at the border of loosing more than 60% of the TVD fandom. Nobody would buy the books now, some may not even watch the show anymore. For this mistake of firing her, they would loose even more.
They have already lost me.

It sounds like L.J. wanted Elena to end up with Damon in the end, but the publishers were against it because they thought Stefan was a more wholesome choice for a teen audience??

I agree with KathyHalliwell. If SE weren't going to be L.J's choice, then it takes the shine off their happy ending. I don't see why they would want to read it knowing that it was a ghostwriter who was just being told what to write, not the author herself. It's not the same thing at all, it's a poor imitation, not the real thing. The publishers don't care about what the fans want. Otherwise they wouldn't be cheating them this way.
