I should edit, there is no hope for Delena end game in the books (they fired her because they wanted Stelena!) BUT I still have a lot of hope for the show because they aren't that stupid!
gah i cant stand book! stelena ...
The Delena fanbase is the biggest. FACT.
Yet the publishers are going for a Stelena endgame? I smell a repeat of Edward and Bella.
I don't even know what they were thinking when firing her. They should have known this action is gonna cost them a lot of fans. And not just DE fans. Don't they care about that?
I just can't see how any fan would be pleased about this. Not even SE fans. Because if I were a Stelena fan, I wouldn't my couple to get endgame because some ghostwriter wrote it that way, while knowing that the REAL author of the books wanted DE.
But about Delena... I'm PISSED.
How can we go from Damon and Elena being twin flames and eternal soul mates to oh, boring SE who stayed the same throughout the series being end game?! IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE! GRRR I'm so pissed. I want DE end game in the show SO MUCH MORE now. I'm broken hearted about my Book!DE. =[
But my way of viewing means, they fired Smith & they are at the border of loosing more than 60% of the TVD fandom. Nobody would buy the books now, some may not even watch the show anymore. For this mistake of firing her, they would loose even more.
They have already lost me.
I agree with KathyHalliwell. If SE weren't going to be L.J's choice, then it takes the shine off their happy ending. I don't see why they would want to read it knowing that it was a ghostwriter who was just being told what to write, not the author herself. It's not the same thing at all, it's a poor imitation, not the real thing. The publishers don't care about what the fans want. Otherwise they wouldn't be cheating them this way.
