I dress modestly, but not because I'm a Christian (I'm agnostic). More because I don't feel the need to dress immodestly. Part of it comes from my time living in a Middle Eastern country. I don't even wear shorts (though I'll wear knee-length skirts). The closest I get to immodest dress is perhaps a low-cut top, but even when I wear that I feel overexposed.

I guess. I never wear shorts and mini skirts, and fully uncover arms and shoulders only when it's really hot outside. I just don't need it + don't feel comfortable showing too much skin. Though in my country it's a custom to always try to look sexy.

I usually wear slacks, t-shirts/long-sleeved shirts, occasional jeans, etc. I don't like mini-skirts, but I have worn long/knee-length skirts, particularly to Church. I don't need to show off anything to have someone like me. It's good just to be who you are, for The Lord's sake (& who He wants you to be) too.

wow that's great guys! I don't dress modestly because I don't feel that it is mandatory, I don't dress that way to be noticed, I dress this way because I feel God made us beautifully and that showing my shoulders and leggs isn't a bad thing in the summer. Don't get me wrong there's nothing wrong with modesty and I am glad you guys dress the way you dress! God bless :)

No but I dress modestly as a pagan (: I normally wear jeans and long sleeves or a jacket even in the summer. I'm just more comfortable that way, I also wear a shirt over my bikini when I swim. As my mom says, you've got to leave something to the imagination.
I see my body as something sacred and personal, not as something to put on display.

lol I understand what you mean. How you dress is a very personal choice, I was just never comfortable with showing much skin (: I'm much more comfortable if I can hide from the world in my hoodie haha

hoodies can be a girls best friend! But I like my spandex shorts too *teehee*

I'm a Mormon, and our standards are pretty strict like no booty shorts, no bikinis, no low-cut tops, no sleeveless shirts or dresses. But I'm okay with it! I like having standards to live by.

God says that true beauty comes from our hearts, and not what's on the outside (I Timothy 2:9, I Peter 3:1-4, I Samuel 16:7), so I really don't feel the need to show myself to everyone walking by. Jesus also said that any man who looks at a woman and wants her has already committed sexual sin in his heart (Matthew 5:28). I don't want to be a stumbling block to my brothers in Christ. I've heard people say "the boys need to keep their minds out of the gutters", but how can they do that if you put your whole self on display? I just think it's better to be a prude than a Strange Woman... (

I'm not the type to be like "hey if I wear this I'll be sooooooo atractive because of how much it shows!" but I will be like "Hey I if I wear this I'll be so super cute because it makes me look good!"

Much like Cinder, I dress modestly, but that has nothing to do with my faith. I dress in a way that's comfortable for me. It's cold for about 9 months out of the year where I live, so I'm usually bundled up to keep warm.
Even in the summer, I'm usually in just jeans and a tee-shirt. It has to be unbearably hot for me to put on shorts and a tank top.

YES!! i cant STAND short skirts, silky lingere or high heels , i feel so uncomfortable in them. they just dont do it for me AT ALL. I ALWAYS go to church dressed in modest or casual clothing. i would be caught DEAD walking into church dressed in inapproapriate clothing. EVER!!

Maybe it's because of the denomination I grew up in, but I do think that Christians are expected to dress modestly and would applaud any who do, as is encouraged in the Bible. I do myself, though less because of faith and more because I think that it's a good thing in general.

^And I agree, going to church with immodest clothing is just disrespectful. The women of my church (Greek Orthodox) sometimes even wear headscaves to church, which I think is a nice gesture of humility and devotion. But yeah, wearing any inappropriate attire to such a place- a place that is meant to focus on the immaterial and the spiritual- is just irreverent and rude.

If, by modesty, you mean dress all fancy.... No. I dress modestly, but not for religious reasons. I'm not a part of any religion, so, yeah.
