I don't believe one can just chose which they like better, they both offer spiritual guidence and history of our faith.

the new testament, clearly!

I mean...there are beautiful and important bits in the old one too....BUT my favourite parts are all in the new testament

The old is good, but it has to be the New Testament for me. It explains a lot about Jesus.
