Dr. Foster hung up the phone with a dejected look on her face. Her husband had just told her he was going to be in late that night, but from his tone she could tell he was lying. In the past few months, her husband had been lying nonstop about staying in late. Dr. Foster didn’t want to assume the worst, but she could tell he was having an affair.

Cal Lightman, who was sitting at his desk, looked at the beautiful woman in front in him and smiled. He thought about how Foster was always there for him, and how he cared for her. Cal’s face glowed as he continued to smile dumbly like a schoolboy in love.

Probably the most beliebt of all the Alec Foster theories and the only one with some semblance of hard evidence to back it up, is the theory that Mr. Foster is cheating on poor Gillian. What have we got to prove ourselves? Well, for one, Alec seems to get awfully jittery when Cal comes around.
