Activision has announced Call of Duty XP, a two Tag convention that will be held in Los Angeles. Anyone who attends the convention will get a chance to play the Modern Warfare 3 online multiplayer and enter in a $1 million tournament. The competition will consist of 32 teams and will be single elimination, where the worst player of each match gets removed. Players at the convention can qualify for the tournament Von playing rounds on Call of Duty: Black Ops. There will also be a free-for-all, team deathmatch, Zombies, and Spec-Ops competition for a chance to win other prizes.
A real life size version of the Scrapyard map will be built for Fans that want to experience a paint ball firefight. Burger Town will be re-created as a Essen court offering lunch for the attendees. Also, The Pit will be built for Fans who want to time themselves in a run and shoot experience for prizes.
Tickets will go on sale July 19th for $150 and will be all-inclusive for both days of the event. The age will 18 years old and they encourage international visitors. All profits will be for the Call of Duty Endowment, which is a non-profit organization who offers to help veterans find jobs and establish careers.
