She should've just died in season 5. After the whole "key" storyline was over, Dawn became a useless character.

Yes. because in season 6 Buffy is too different and depressed by the funny joking slayer who people love.. There were some jokes, but she was just acting like she was ok not to make her friends feel guilty for taking her back from heaven
