Wow, I'm really not a Briley fan so it kind of kills me to say this but overall if I'm honest even if he wasn't the one she loved most we saw her having more happy moments with Riley than with Spike and Angel combined. But my arguement is it's a quality not quantity thing. Even though she seemed happy more times with Riley he couldn't make her feel the way Spike OR Angel did.

And while I'm being honest, gotta admit the only reason I'm putting picks up tonight in the first place is because I'm online saying happy new year to my relatives abroad and the only computer I have access to tonight is so sucky I need something to do while it's taking so long. So if the picks I did tonight are lame I'm blaming it on the fact that I only did them to pass the time while this computer was busy sucking, lol.

You know you haven't got a snowball's chance in hell of getting honest objective answers to this right? Shippers are going to pick the couple they like most even if it's not technically the right answer. And I can hardly blame them. It almost physically hurt me to pick Riley. I really didn't like him, But we did see her having more happy lighthearted moments with him than angel or spike

Lol yeah I also hate to pick Riley but it's true. For bits she almost had a normal life with him, whereas it was all angst with both Angel and Spike. The reason I'm not a Briley is because I don't think it was a very deep relationship, and personally I would rather have tragedy and angst than to just be content and happy without feeling anything deep.

yeah i agree with what you all said, angel and spike was way too much drama not really many happy moments probably can count them on one hand or so but with riley it was her well nly normal big relationship and she could just be herself and not worry about fighting and being the slayer sunlight etc etc!

I totally agree, Buffy didn't have to worry about Slayer stuff when she was with Riley. He was her first normal boyfriend and she could be completely herself around him without worrying about what may happen or not.

I was going to say Riley but I don't know if she was actually happy or if she was deluding herself into thinking that Riley would be enough for her. I thought she sucked at the end of their relationship. Not only the vampire bites, but the fact that he was being so needy when her mother was in the hospital.
And I can't say Angel because they were so angsty. Plus she had to kill him.
I know Spuffy had a lot of terrible moments, but since I couldn't pick the other ones and I love Spuffy, this is my choice.

i will always think Spuffy is the best, but she seemed happiest with Riley. He certainly couldn't make him love her or feel the way Angel and Spike could, but she seemed happier with him. Angel is a broody guy, i know i certainly would find it hard to be happy around him, and about half there arc was him being a bastard, and then he leaves her? not fun. Totally all angsty. With spike.. the season 6 arc was hot but depressing, because of various reasons (depending on who you ship you're gonna spin it different ways, but in general season 6 was bad for buffy as a character) and in season 7 he made her feel better than anyone ever did, but because for most of the spike/buffy relationship was depressing before season 7 (where she basically reciprocates his feelings for her) . So in general, she was happiest with Riley.

Even though he's my least favourite of her three main love interests, I have to admit that she had more happy scenes, or less sad scenes, with him. I think the surrounding storylines were just less angsty at that time.
