Maybe not strong enough to defeat him, but strong enough to put up one hell of a fight. Besides, Kenpachi isn't one to sit by idle and miss a fight against someone like that; if there is a potential fight, Kenpachi will fight, as long as he thinks that he won't win in one hit, or not have a challenge. Plus, Ikkaku and Kenpachi have fought before, so if Kenpachi fought him then, without a Shikai, he would obviously fight Ikkaku with a Bankai, it is just simple logic, really. posted Vor mehr als einem Jahr.

	blackpanther666 picked Challenge him to a fight: ^ Yumichika doesn't have Bankai, he simply releases a weaker form of Ruri-Iro Kujaku, calling it Fuji Kujaku, also a pet name that Ruri-Iro Kujaku hates, as he said (and complained about) during the Zanpakuto Rebellion Arc. He only has Shikai, but it happens to be a powerful Shikai, but one that Kenpachi would consider 'cowardly', because it is Kido-based and drains the spiritual power of the opponent, hence why Hisagi was so exhausted-looking after their fight, during the fight between Kenpachi, Tosen and Sajin. Secondly, Ikkaku never said anything about being 'kicked out', he was talking to Renji after he accidentally saw Ikkaku's Bankai and explained to the question 'why don't you become a Captain, since you have a Bankai?', to which Ikkaku replied 'no, because I would rather serve under Kenpachi as a third seat, than be a Captain.
