NBC is up to its old tricks again and remaking another British TV show for American audiences.

Bear Grylls, The Island gets a Hollywood makeover and takes fourteen U.S. contestants (bizarrely all men), to see if they can survive on a deserted island with just the bare essentials of their clothes on their back, basic tools and their wits about them.

CBS reality competition, Survivor, there are no eliminations, no prizes and no camera teams, in fact the six-episode series is filmed by the participants themselves.

The Island, which certainly evokes the LOST TV series with those clouds in the background, was snapped along West Hollywood\'s Sunset Plaza on May 2, 2015.

Let\'s hope these survivalists don\'t discover any smoke monsters, escaped polar bear experiments, or clones grown for spare parts (like in the 2005 movie of the same name with Scarlett Johansson and Ewan McGregor).
