I don't think that the fans are undermining other aspects of the show. I just think they are happy to have a female lead.
I also wonder about that, but I doubt it. I think it would be like dominate and recessive genes; blonde hair is more common to pass down than red.
I'm probably gonna get from shit for this but; to an extent I disagree with this one. Most of the reason I disagree is because of the rude and aggressive way it was stated. For one it's not just 'racist end of story.' There are grey areas; perhaps the character was whitewashed because the artist ran out of the correct color supply, perhaps the artist genuinely didn't realize people took offense to it (they weren't trying to be racist), and perhaps the artist had intended on making the right skin tone but it turned out lighter than expected. It can be many things so it's not necessarily 'just racist end of story.' And if the artist recolors it more accurately than you should give a f*** because it proves they really didn't mean it and had the respect and decadency to go back and 'do it the right way' so to speak. It's not that we care more about the whitewashers than the people hurt by it, I can't speak for everyone, but I see both sides. Two wrongs don't make a right and trying to hurt the feelings of whitewashers (particularly ones who didn't mean to offend) won't help it will just make them feel more right. 'Whitewashing hurts YOU FOOLS!' This is what I meant by the aggressive nature of this confession. You know what else hurts, getting called a fool. Whilst this wasn't directed at me I felt that it was and this pushed my disagreement. No shiz whitewashing hurts, which is why I look to avoid it, but like I said up there the reason for it could be many things. Not just because they aim to be hurtful. So pull your head out of your butt and instead of stooping to insults actually talk nicely to the person first. The STFU thing was also unnecessarily aggressive. Just because someone defends another's art doesn't make them a white supremacist. When people talk like the person making this confession people generally fight back harder and become more aggressive in their opinion, where as a simple 'hey maybe next time you should stick to the original skin colors' would suffice and possibly earn you a 'oh, okay thanks, next time I will'. All yelling at the person does is tap them into a defense mode. For me it's all about how you approach the whitewasher.
This one I agree with, I'd love to see them be friends again.
Eh.....the female lead thing.....a lot of people are happy about it. I don't mind a female lead, but I immensely dislike Korra as the new lead. She's ruining the show for me. Some people are turning LOK into a shipping show.....and I can't blame them. The show focuses so much on relationships.....it is utterly ridiculous.
I hope Azula, Ty Lee, and Mai reconciled their friendship. I loved that badass trio!
I do wonder if Kya and Bumi can have airbabies.......they carry the same DNA as Aang....so why not?
This one pisses my ass right off. Stop playing the damn race card. No one is defending any "whitewashing." I'm so sick of everyone turning everything into a race battle.........everyone should just STFU and do whatever the f*ck they want to do.
