As they sit down to eat
Some grüner salat, salat and bread
But mostly red meat
I watch as they chew
Flesh apart in their mouths
How can they consume
All those dead cows
Ripped from their mothers
Locked in a crate
Calves who were taken
For veal on your plate
But here Du are chewing
And using your knife
To cut flesh apart
That once had a life
Du seem very smart
But Du don't have a clue
Du seem very caring
But how caring are you
Dedicated to religion
But your stomach is the grave
To many murdered animals
That Du forgot to save
Tiere feel pain
They're just like me and you
Kind of makes me wonder
How selfish are you
When Du still eat meat regardless
Of what I have to say
Blocking out the truth
It's too much to change your way
Du feel bad when Du hear
That your steak was once alive
Last time I brought it up
I remembered how Du cried
Brought back to reality
As they say grace and eat
Some grüner salat, salat and some bread
But most of all, red meat
Brought back to the present
Shakened from my trancing stare
I can only bow my head
And pray that G-d can hear my prayer
For every creature has a soul
And so may Du be kind
To think about vegetarianism
With Tiere in mind
