Humphrey got a call from Garth.

Garth was breathing heavily.

They got a good night sleep then set out for the airport.

“So? We’re in this ‘mini cabin’ and Humphrey and Kate are to the left of us, Cando and Hutch to the right, Reba and Janice to the behind right, Winston and Tony to the behind left and Lilly and Eve behind us with no one else, so no stranger will see us,” Salty said.

“We are starting our descent into Seattle, so please put your seatbacks and tray tables into the upright lock positions.”
They landed and Garth was sitting on a bench Von the Baggage Claim.

They were driven Von 3 taxis to Tryouts. Tryouts went well, they all made the team.
“Alright, men. Here are your positions! Hutch, you’re Receiver! Humphrey, you’re Running Back! Cando, you’re the kicker! Shakey, you’re our Line Backer! Winston you’re another Receiver! Mooch, you’re a Center! Du have so much body fat that you’re perfect as a lineman!”
“Thanks!” Mooch sagte sarcastically.
“Salty you’re a Safety! Tony, you’re corner back! Any Questions!?”
“Yeah, will Du be yelling like this every time we see you?”

They got to a hotel and stayed the night.

Football practice finally started. Cando had to figure out how to kick the football.

Garth did a play action pass. Tony knocked the ball out of Winston’s paws.

“Yes, sir.”
“You’re 2. Winston you’re 1 Mooch you’re 3 Humphrey, you’re 5 I’m 6. Cando Du try to be 4.”
“Alright.”
“This isn’t fair Du have 6 offensive people we only have 3 defense. Hey Tatupu, can Du come over here?”
“I really should be practicing with the humans.”
“Can Du ask coach if Du can be with us for a little bit?”

“Good practice. I’m gonna let Du go. Remember we have game Sunday 1:05 against the New York Giants. Get rest and also train.”
They Wölfe went back to the hotel. Shakey, Humphrey, Mooch, and Salty went to fast food.

Everyone looked at Mooch is disbelief.
“Fat ass,” Shakey mumbled.

They went back to the hotel. Everyone saw Mooch chowing down on all the crap that he ordered.

They all met at Qwest Field ready for the game.
“Hasselbeck, Humphrey, Williams you’re the team captains.”

The coin landed on heads.

Cando got ready for kickoff. He signaled the kick and kicked the ball. The return guy saw how Cando kicked the ball and was stunned. The ball hit his helm and a guy on the Seahawks recovered the ball.
“Offence out!” Seahawks coach Pete Carroll yelled.
Mooch got in Center position.
“Hey lame face!” a Giants lineman insulted Mooch, “I bet Du can’t even hike the ball! The easiest thing to do in football!”
Mooch rose from the ball and raised his fist.

“Whoa, Mooch,” Matt said. “ Du know you’re better than him so just ignore him.”

Matt threw the ball to Mike Williams. Mike was tackled at OPP 13.

The ball was ran right into the goal Von Humphrey, breaking 2 tackles.
“His first time having the ball in the NFL he gets a touchdown!” the announcer yelled.
“That’s amazing to think that he’s also a wolf in the NFL too,” the other announcer pointed out.
“Cando, out for the extra point.”

Cando kicked for the extra point and then the kick return.

Shakey covered a guy who was 6 feet tall but Shakey himself is pretty small. Salty was watching the action from behind, he was the Safety. Tony had a zone not necessarily a guy to cover. Eli Manning threw a pass to one of his receivers. Salty tackled him on the spot.
“Yeah! Good job Salty!”
Minuten passed through as the Seahawks continued to lead 7 nothing. Matt got sacked and got injured.
“Coach, Matt is down!” Shakey panicked.
“Great. Whitehurst, is it ok if we bring Garth in as a replacement so he can get some practice?”
“Sure.”
“Alright, Garth!”
“Yeah coach?”
“Go in for Matt when he gets off the field.”

Matt was helped off the field and Garth went on.
“Hey Garth,” Mooch greeted.

Garth was sacked right there.
“Damn!”
Garth saw a yellow flag.
“Offsides, Defense number 86, 1st and 5,” the Ref said.
“Alright, we’re going to try to catch them off guard Von reversing it 3 times,” Carroll said, “Winston Du get the ball first then, Hutch takes it from him, and Humphrey take is from Hutch and runs right down the middle. The 2 reverses should create a hole in the defense formation.”
The play came into place and came out as planned. Humphrey ran right down the middle and came for a touchdown. The Giants were getting frustrated and aggressive. The Weiter play was a 2-point conversion to be in the lead at 15. Humphrey was slammed down just inside the goal.
“Ahh! Man!”
Humphrey was gripping his right knee and limped to huddle.
“Humphrey, Du ok?” Garth asked.
“Yeah.”
The half ended and it was still 15 nothing Seahawks.
“Good work men!” Pete Carroll yelled.
Halftime came and went. Humphrey was deep ready to run the ball down the field. He caught the ball and got tackled at the spot. They went 3 and out and had to punt. The Giants returned the ball with a touchdown. Garth wondered WTF.
“Come on Defense!”
A few Mehr Minuten passed as all the series were 3 and outs. Cando kicked and missed a 53 yard field goal. A defender just decided to have a hitting the kicker penalty go on him. He nailed Cando in the helm with his knee and tackled Cando. The 350 pound lineman stomped on Cando which broke his left arm.
The offensive Coordinator and Pete Carroll came onto the field to check on Cando. The lineman was ejected from the game. Cando felt his head become heavy and felt he could not move. He saw Pete Carroll’s face then he Lost consciousness and the lights went out and the sound faded away. When Pete Carroll saw he eyes close, he immediately checked his pulse.
He felt pulse and heartbeat the crowd thought he might have been dead and became silence. For once there was no noise in the Seattle stadium. Pete Carroll picked up Cando and sagte to the Ref that he was alive.
“People of Qwest Field, Our friend Cando is alive.”
Everyone especially the Giants Fans cheered. Pete Carroll walked to the locker room carrying Cando. He set him down on a tabelle to be checked out Von the doctor.
“He’s got a pretty bad concussion and a shattered left arm,” the doctor sagte “He’s not going to be able to play for the season.”
“Oh.”
“I’m going to have too do surgery on his left arm.”
“Alright, does he have brain damage?”
“No, but he is unconscious. Strip off his uniform and pads to prepare for surgery.”
“Alright.
“I’ll get my stuff ready.”
Pete Carroll took off Cando’s uniform and pads. The doctor came back
“Go to the field to resume the game I’ll help him out.”
“Alright.”
Cando woke up as Pete Carroll left.
“Hey Little guy,” the doctor said, “Are Du feeling ok?”
“How am I?”
“You have a concussion and a shattered arm.”
“I have a huge pain in my arm!”
Pete Carroll got to the sideline.
“How is he?” Humphrey asked.
“He has a concussion and a shattered arm.”
“Oh.”
“You’re our new kicker.”

“Yes.”
“I’m not a trained Alpha.”
“And?”
“I can’t do that flip. Besides I’m bigger and less flexible than him.”
“Well try.”
The Giants were on offense and scored again.
“We’re tied now, that’s great!”
They went offense and went 3 and out.
“Alright, I’m going to tranquilize Du so I can do surgery,” the doctor said.
“Alright.”
Cando was tranquilized and had surgery done. The Giants were up 21 to 15. Kate came over to Pete Carroll.
“How is Cando?”
“He has a concussion and a shattered arm.”
“Oh.”
“He’s having surgery on his arm.”
Garth saw a lot of black defense people.
“25... D! Humans are black! Hutt!”
A yellow flag came down.
“Taunting, 15 yard penalty.”
Garth threw an interception.
“Come on!”
The game ended.
“Wolves, team, gather up!”
Everyone gathered up.
“Wolves, I’m sorry to say this, but because of Du we had our first loss of the season. I’m taking Du off the team.”
“It’s alright, we’re not meant to do human stuff.”
“Our friend Cando has finished his surgery and is coming out now.”
The team clapped.
“I’m ok, I just want to go home.”
“Well, coach let us off the team.”
“Ok, good.”
“Will we see Du again Coach Carroll?” Humphrey asked
“If not on Earth we will in Heaven.”
