 Scar
Scar
(March 22, 2011)

I was on my approach to land at Jasper International Airport when my phone rang. I fished it out of my flight suit and answered the call.
"Where are you, Colby?" It was Scar, my datum for the evening.
"I'm on my way," I sagte into the phone, hoping against hope that she couldn't hear the roar of the F-14D's turbines.
"I'll be waiting," she sagte seductively and hung up.
I let out a huge sigh of relief. My surprise, it seemed, was safe, sicher for the moment. I was cleared in to land and the F-14 flared in for a perfect 3 point landing.
I taxied off the runway, start-und landebahn and shut down the engines.
There was a truck waiting for me at the entrance to the airport, a Ford F-150 SVT Raptor, which I would need if I was going to make it to Scar. The truck rode okay.
I took the turn off that lead into Jasper National park and started looking around for her. It didn't take long.

Scar, beautifully red in her radiance, stood at the entrance to her den. Her pelz was glossy, straight, and clean. She obviously hadn't gone hunting today.
I hopped out of the Raptor and opened her door for her. "You look lovely, my dear."
She blushed, her cheeks emitting a rosy glow. "Thanks." She hopped in.
"I think you'll enjoy what comes next," I sagte happily as I got back in the truck.
"I don't think so," she sagte blandly.
"I wasn't talking about that," I sagte hastily, trying to save the moment.
"Oh," she said, surprised.
"You hear that a lot?" I asked.
She shrugged. "Sometimes I do. Candu wanted me to do things to him, but I wouldn't."
I wasn't much fond of Candu and I sagte so. Scar laughed at that.
"So what are we going to do?" she asked. I grinned. She obviously hadn't noticed what I was wearing. I kept driving down the weathered track and eventually we made it back to the highway.
We pulled into the airport, which made her raise a single eyebrow. I loved when she did that. It made her look sexy.
When we parked, the raised eyebrow turned into a look of part confusion/part fear.
"Close your eyes and follow my voice," I told her. She did. We attracted a lot of odd looks, but we didn't care.
We made it out to the schürze and I led her, eyes still closed, over to the Tomcat. Before I climbed up into the cockpit to feuer the engines, I told her to keep her eyes shut no matter what. She agreed, a little apprehensively.
I fired the engines, a loud whine shattering the relative silence of Jasper International Airport. Scar's ears perked up, but she kept her eyes shut.
"You ready?" I asked.
"You know it," she answered eagerly.
"Open them."
She did. I could hear her gasp of surprise over the whine of the engines.
"Is that what I think it is?" She asked incredulously.
"What do Du think it is?" I asked, teasing.
"It's a fighter plane, right?" she guessed.
"It is indeed. And Du and I are going for a ride."
She howled with excitement and leaped into my arms. "You're so sweet," she sagte in between kisses. "You know that?"
I didn't say anything, but kissed her back. After a few Minuten of that, I said, "Ready to fly?"
Her face adopted that other look that I particularly loved. One of fierce determination and danger. "I feel the need-" she started.
"The need for speed!" I finished the famous quote.
I put Scar down and helped her into the cockpit. The sheer volume of buttons and gizmoes on the panel stunned her.
Once I had her strapped in, I took my sitz at the controls. I flipped a single switch and the loud whine that was coming from the engines was replaced with an even louder roar. Scar winced. I reached back and gave Scar a helmet.
"This makes it easier to block the sound!" I yelled back so she could hear me.
Once she had it on, I closed the canopy. It slid Home with a satisfying snap.
The roar of the engines was muted somewhat, but not much.
"Sierra Charlie Alpha Romeo One Four, ready for taxi to the active, straight out departure," I sagte on the radio. In the backseat, Scar looked at me like I was crazy, then her gaze softened as she understood what I had done. She kissed her paw, then transferred it to my cheek.
I received the clearance for taxiing and smoothly applied power. The jet rolled forward.

A few Minuten later, the F-14's nose gear left the tarmac and the plane climbed into the sky. I retracted the landing gear and felt the plane leap forward. Scar whistled as the jet climbed faster and faster.
"Rolling inverted!" I called out as I whipped the jet through a lightning quick barrel roll. Scar screamed out of surprise. I laughed.
"Give me some heads up Weiter time, will ya?" she teased from the back seat.
"How about this? We're going ballistic," I said.
"What's that mean?"
I never answered. I just whipped the nose of the F-14 skyward and punched the afterburners. Scar got thrust back into her sitz hard enough to make her grunt. I watched the altimeter on my HUD climb through 40 thousand feet and leveled off five thousand above that.
"Oh my gosh, it's so pretty from up here," Scar whispered. I banked right so she could see the river. "How high are we?" she asked.
"Forty five thousand feet," I replied.
She just looked at me.
"That's high!"
I laughed. "That's nothing. But since we've seen altitude, wanna see speed?"
She nodded and gripped her harness.
I flipped the F-14 inverted and pulled down towards the earth. We passed Mach 1 in less than five seconds, Mach 2 a half Minute later. The F-14 leveled out 2 thousand feet above the ground moving at Mehr than a thousand knots.

We flew around Jasper Park for the rest of the afternoon, spotting some pretty cool stuff. It was on the way back to the airport that I finally gathered the courage to ask what I had been wanting to for a long time.
"Hey, Scar?"
"Yeah?"
"I've got a Frage for you."
"What is it, Colby?" she asked sweetly.
"I was... Kinda... Wondering... If... Du know... Du wanted to go out with me?"
She looked at me seriously for a moment before answering.
"You did all of this for me. The flight, the abendessen later. I would Liebe to go out with you," she said.
I smiled wide. "I'd hug Du right now, but we're both strapped in."
The F-14 homed in on Jasper International Airport as we reveled in what was about to begin.
