Du may think that the smoke maybe was there for too long and he choked on all of it in his
lungs and died. Well what they sagte was that it was only there for a teilt, split Sekunde before they could glint at Firestar's pelt and know that he was dead. "A warrior jumped at him and killed him. A warrior couldn't of Rushed up to FIRESTAR and kill him in half a second. That would be impossible.
Then later the series we see him in starclan. Yeah people I know that he is dead because we saw him in starclan.
