Who will elana choose?

In season 3 at the beginning were I am I thought elana and Damon were gonna hit it off but then stepfan comes back and elana is having mixed emotions but I wonder if there is still kathrine in this Liebe quadrangle so: kathrine and elana Liebe Stepfan, and Damon loves elana,elana loves stepfan it's all confusing.
